Maybe because they stop quicker than the average car? Also because everyone and their mother drive distracted now

I have had aftermarket parts covered when it was the other persons' fault. One time I had some weird taillights no one could source and they just gave me the money for it and replaced with stock ones. You just have to provide them with what it was and the value. I keep all receipts in a binder along with maintenance records and it seems to be less hassle when something like this comes up.

Also, never leave without a police report. A cut and dry police report makes things easier.

Stopping distance is certainly part of it. Also noticed that in almost every reported rear end on here the other vehicle was a pickup truck, SUV or larger sedans. Almost none were other smaller cars. Could be they just simply don't see us. I know that sounds weird but with the height difference they don't even need to be that close for our brake lights to be out of line of sight and even the 3rd light is pretty low in the window.
That is my theory at any rate.

Solution: relocate 3rd brake light, add f1 flasher module

And practice good defensive driving techniques by checking mirrors before braking. There will of course be panic situation situations but sudden braking may not be the only option.

Perhaps it's because drivers of smaller cars drive more defensively because in an accident, they, being in the smaller car, have a higher chance of being smooshed...

Ironic, isn't it? When asked why they drive such big ass cars, most of the time the answer, when it is not about towing a boat or camper, is, "I like being high up because I can see better."

Well, in all fairness, for work I drive a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 2" lift kit. While I can see most of the road very, very well, I do need to be aware of what's immediately around me a lot more than I do in my FRS.

A couple reasons for this. When people are beside me, I cannot see their signal lights, so I don't know if they're trying to move over. If someone cuts me off very close to my front, I'm putting my brakes on immediately, because other than SUVs and other trucks, I can't see most people's license plates, which means I can't adequately see their brake lights. What I gain in being able to see further out from my truck, I lose being able to see very close up.

Not disagreeing with what you said, but, I feel like it gives some good context to the point of "seeing better".

Not bad at all actually.
They will fix the emblem since it is stock but will not repair the aftermarket exhaust unless you reported to them that you put it on. They would probably have upped your premiums to cover it's cost though.
They replaced my aftermarket parts even if I hadn't told them about them, hell they even replaced my KW V3, my seibon lip and my gramlights rim (It will depend on your insurance carrier and the actual insurance evaluator that looks at the damages). I say you have a decent chance of getting the exhaust replaced. Not so much if it would be something like a supercharger.

That is cool! My policy says right in it that any undeclared modifications or parts will not be covered.

But that's your policy which I brelieve applies to comprehensive and collision coverages when a collision is your fault or uninsured motorist coverage . In OP's case, it is the other party's fault so he/they will have to pay whatever it costs to restore OP's car to pre-collision condition.

Yes. I get that but Fuman's accident was single car so there was nobody else's insurance involved. That is what my comment was about.
Of course if it is somebody else hits you then whatever you had is covered.
