Frs got rear ended, Need tips

So the other day my 10series got rear ended by an F150. :brokenheart: So now im dealing with all the headache that comes with a car accident. Most of the damge is on the rear bumper, trunk, and spoiler. Also my exhaust was pushed in and there might be some frame damage behind the rear bumper. Also I have a small scratch in the front from bumping into the car in front of me. Now my light up emblem only lights up half way. I take it to the repair shop tomorrow so they can do the estimate. So maybe someone whose been in this situation can chime in :thanks:

Heres a few questions I have:

Will insurance cover my aftermarket exaust and also fix my 10 series glowing emblem?

Do you think this damage is a total loss?

Any tips or pointers or things I should mention to the adjuster to make sure the repair gets done right and correctly?

Here are some pics of the damage:

I frequently guess wrong on these but feel safe in saying that is in no way a total loss.
Not bad at all actually.
They will fix the emblem since it is stock but will not repair the aftermarket exhaust unless you reported to them that you put it on. They would probably have upped your premiums to cover it's cost though.

If it is the other driver's fault, I would demand that they replace everything, including all the aftermarket stuff (even the light up emblem), just the way it was before the accident. I don't see how they can refuse.

No i didnt report it to them. So pretty much they will just replace with a new stock one? Man that is some BS. Especially since im still paying for the invidia i put on less than 2 minths ago...how am i suffering when the dude hit me..

Totalled...

Yeah, no way even close to a total loss on his one.

I assume it's the other person's fault so I would think that everything should be covered, even your aftermarket parts. Your insurance would come into play if it was your fault I believe. In that case, your insurance will replace with stock parts. You maybe able to see if they would split the difference.

Whats this i hear about diminished value i can claim? Does anyone know about or has done that? Because i am losing value in the car because of this accident.

(Non confrontational tone)
Why is that BS? Why would they pay for more valuable items then they knew were on the car? If you told tem your premiums may go up $5 a year but then the value of the parts is covered. Hell they may even wave the increase but they sure are not gonna pay more that they think the car is worth stock.

You will need to talk to your insurance company on that. Eligibility and amounts vary from State to State. It won't be huge dollars with that little (appearing) damage.

Good call there Joy. I didn't think of that angle.

Have you talked to insurance yet? Some questions you posted would be better answered by your representative. They would be specific to your policy.

Is Florida a no-fault state? Was it OP's fault somehow? Or was the guy in the truck uninsured and so OP's insurance will cover cost? I don't understand the concern about what OP's insurance might or might not pay for unreported aftermarket parts since the other guy and his insurance is on the hook for this (assuming it is his fault).

Not sure if florida is a no fault state but the guy who hit me did not get a ticket from the cop at the time of the accident. We both had to go online and fill out a crash report about what happened. It is no doubt his fault and i even have a witness to back me up. So what im seeing is you guys think that since his insurance (geico) will be the one paying for repairs that they should repair my car back to how it was before the accident? Aftermarket parts and all? Really the only aftermarket parts damaged were my invidia exhaust and my rear diffuser. Ive only had the car for 4 months so im really trying to get the maximum i can get from this auto claim. Also it wasmt even his truck it was a company truck for the Mexican restaurant he works at. If they repair it back to stock i just lose all the money i spent on my aftermarket parts...

If you are going through the other person's liability insurance, they can wreck the Mona Lisa and their insurance will cover it up to policy limits.

If you are going through your own comprehensive because the other person's insurance won't cover, you will have to ask your own insurance company.
