ONLY use the definitions from the OpenFlash website. Download them all, and extract them into a folder on your computer. Select the one for your car ID, which you can see if you plug your OFT into your computer. The definition file is what you want to edit. If you take a look at the post I referred you to, you can see that the blocks of text (that you want to add to your definition file) are in between other text in the document. Search for some of this text in your definition file, and add the blocks of text in the same areas as shown in that post.

Does that answer your question?

Didn't even know this was possible... lol

My TRD exhaust vibrates my neighbors house and my garage. It's hilarious unless it's like 2am. Then it pisses me off.

Then you'll want to do this mod! With this mod in place the car starts... and then instantly gets quiet (depending on how you set it up). The revs sit at 1000 for a bit until they descend to 700rpm, but there is NO cold routine anymore. Pretty nice.

C Series Defs in that post. Compatible with all v2.x OFT files.

@ajcarson11. Much obliged for your assistance sir. I'll give it a go next week as my OFT stuff is on my work computer. I swear I'm at work more than I'm at home...ugh.
@Kodename47: Thanks for linking those. Quick question, how do the defintions you've linked differ from those that come with the OFT v.2.0x OTS tunes?

I have spent time defining more tables and then organising them into more appropriate categories (IMO). They are also completely cross compatible between other ROM types for comparisons etc.

I'd have to take a look at the injection timing. If it's running just DI, you'll usually have two injection events, roughly 50/50 or 60/40 split between the first and second event. The first is in the intake stroke, around 240-260 BTDC firing. The second is on the compression stroke, roughly 40-70 BTDC firing. This stabilizes the combustion enough to allow retarded spark. If the engine is cold enough you'll just see a high rpm idle, single injection event, and maybe less retarded spark. It's focused more on warm up and less on emissions, because there are no emissions tests taking place colder than 20F/-7C ambient.

I haven't seen charts on the cam grind vs crank angle, but the valve overlap burns up the HC emissions if intake valve ends up opening BTDC intake. It's commonly used on Japanese cars.

What happens is, the HC emissions are ejected mostly when the exhaust valve opens and when it closes. If the intake valve is open at the end of the exhaust event with piston still ascending, that HC goes back into the intake port where it can be burned up on the next cycle.

One last thing to keep in mind. The stock tune was designed to start and idle ok on really crappy fuel (does not vaporize well) in very cold climates. That's one of the reasons why it behaves the way it does. There are special lab-grade "heavy startability fuels" that's used to test this. So there is a certain safety margin you are seeing in the stock tune. One of the side effects to that can be NVH concerns.

So, I copied the latest RR_ZAJ1B01D file from TD_D's page on github, searched, found, copied, and pasted the appropriate sections into my current ZAJ1A00D definition file.

If you have an automatic, use an OFT with a ZAJ1A00D ROM, and want the definition file to see these tables, just send me a PM and I'll send you the xml file.

Is their any danger in edition them by hand and not copying tables? I manually did the changes to a ZAIJD00D rom

When you edit them by hand there isn't the risk of saving it with the wrong definition, or saving the wrong file with the right name.

Cool thanks, I just did the loud idle fix as well as changed the fan curve to what others reccomended, however instead of 3 columns @ 750 rpm I decided to do 800 RPM. Does that mean when everything is warmed to operating temp it will idle in gear at 800 rpm? Also I almost forgot to change the ignition time from -15 to -4 if I had forgotten to do that what would've happened?

It would still idle loud, just not as fast.

One last question, should I have changed Idle speed targets A through F or just A and B

you need to do all tables A-F

quiet start you need to do 4 things

lower fast idle speeds
reduce the maf offset after start ingear/neutral
Reduce Post start ignition timing

and on USA roms disable P050B cel code post start ignition performance or you will get CEL light.
