Question is this a total loss? (sigh)

I haven't even owned this car for a year, just recently got the first scheduled maintenance done on it.

2015 subaru brz limited, 6mt, only 7500 miles on it.

I was approaching an intersection and as I entered the intersection, the driver on the opposite lane facing me decided to turn left and failed to yield, i tried to turn away from him but it was too late.

the damage from what i can see:

-all the passenger side airbags deployed, driver side airbags deployed on the steering wheel.

-not really sure where my front passenger tire/wheel/shocks/springs..etc are

-passenger door does not open/close properly, kind of stuck

-there seems to be areas inside of the car where it is damaged and bent out of place with gaps

-car wouldn't turn back on after collision

-probably some more things i cannot observe at the moment

-police officers found the other party to be at fault for failing to yield when turning left, wrote them a ticket for failure to yield and another for not being able to present insurance

anyways, does this look like a total loss??
i am beyond words at how bummed out i am about this

here are pictures:

looks like it to me. I'm pretty sure that the insurance writes off your car if any airbag deploys.

also, good to see that you made it out OK. hopefully the other party has insurance so that you will get taken care of.

Fucking christ, I think it's safe to say that's totaled. Looks like visible frame damage plus a whole slew of other shit that was damaged or destroyed.

What do you plan to do since the other party has no insurance?

EDIT: Damn, three posts within the minute!

the other party said his insurance information was in his glovebox which was jammed stuck as a result of the collision, id imagine the average motorist should at least know the company of the insurance provider but he didn't so i am having my doubts.

i hope he's got insurance but im not exactly sure, my insurance company was very helpful on the phone guiding me through everything. he has a court date to present insurance or to contest anything and i am 100% showing up for it

this is one of the reasons why I specifically added uninsured motorist coverage to my policy. I am paranoid about it since in socal, there are quite a few people that drive around illegally.

your own insurance should be able to fight for you though. I was once rear-ended by someone with no insurance and my insurance went deep into an investigation to make sure that the other party had no insurance and weren't lying to avoid paying up. however, if they do end up not having insurance and you not having uninsured motorist coverage, I believe the only option for you is to start a civil suit.

ive never been involved in a major car collision before, im starting to feel aches and bits of pain as the adrenaline and shock is wearing off. i was able to walk and all that under my own power and didn't need medical attention but do have concern over how i feel in the next 24-48 hours

when your insurance asked you about injuries when filing the claim, what did you tell them?

I do believe I have uninsured motor vehicle coverage but it states that it is a uninsured motor vehicle - bodily injury policy? whatever that means

no idea what happens if this dude has no insurance whatsoever

if you do go to do a checkup, don't forget to get the paperwork from the hospital or doctor's office and tell your claim rep about it. you might have to pay out of pocket for the visit, but you should be able to get the money back later on. bodily injury policy is basically to cover for bodily injury, lol, but I don't believe it covers your car.

Well, driver being uninsured normally means that the vehicle is uninsured as well, assuming that the vehicle is his own.

If it was someone else's vehicle... well your insurance may go after the owner as well. Not sure to be honest.

Did you get yourself checked out by a doctor?
