Sigh, so much for being new...

Anyone know the best way to go about fixing this?

Stupid piece of plastic flew up into the air by a pickup infront of me and struck it.

Live with it or halfassedly cover it up. It'll be far from the first. Subaru paint is known for its level of suck and this car for whatever reason is a front end debris damage magnet.

Ive never had a car that took so much bumper abuse from dding. Im on the touchup pen/no fucks given route and maybe a respray on the bumper if i ever need to when getting rid of the car.

Garage
Fix it then apply Xpel film to whole front end, bumper, hood, fenders then never worry of this again. Done deal...

No kidding...my FRS took on a bail of hay that flew off of a truck on the interstate while I was doing around 70 mph. Slowed from 80 mph. Could not slow down too much because of cars behind me. Could not get into the middle lane from the fast lane because of car next to me. No way in hell was I going to hit the emergency lane close to the median with all the rocks/debris. Made the executive decision to hit the bail head on and got quite lucky. No damage done.

But yes, this car has an affinity for taking objects to the front end. Subby paint does suck. Why didn't Toyota have anything to do with this aspect of car...

To the OP. Let your bumper rack of some damage and get repainted in a few years. Just do your best to make it less noticeable in the meantime. A repaint will be a wonderful refreshment

Amilleri, I'm pretty close to you, so if you would like me to take a look at it, I would be more than happy. It's hard to tell from the pic how bad it is. I will actually be detailing a few cars in Watertown during the day on Tuesday, if you're around maybe we can meet up somewhere. Just send me a PM or give me a call and we can set something up. Link to my website with phone # is below.

It's funny you said something cause I actually called you about a month and a half ago about getting opti-coat applied to the FR-S I was getting, I just haven't been able to save the money to actually get it yet! (wife wants to take vacation, and i'd rather get the opti-coat)

Can't tell if its down to the plastic or not but if it isn't, a little wet sanding a buffing and it should be fine.

Brand new cars get dented, dinged, and gouged... gotta get on with life or have it sit as a garage queen.

Step 1: Buy new car.
Step 2: Purchase any number of trusted clear bra brands.

I've got about 13k on my 2013 FRS right now, half of that highway miles in Arizona and the only pinhead sized nick I have on the entire front end came on the drive to the shop to get the bra put on. Worth every penny.

the entire front end and new ceramic tint ran about 700.00

This is not a Subaru paint issue. This is widespread in the industry ever since they switched from oil-based to water-based paints. If you look at it the wrong way, it chips. That's just how it is. Same deal with my previous car (2010 Camaro).

Well that's why I've planned to get Opti-Coat applied over the vehicle, but the wife wants to take a vacation next month so money has been being put away instead of going towards better things

Can't even get my exhaust till September

Definitely look into doing a clear bra. I am beyond anal about random chips, nicks and other paint defects... since I've installed XPEL Ultimate, no probs!

Opticoat will NOT help prevent chips in your paint. It will help with SWIRLS that you induce when washing the car.
