Hey guys, its almost time to change the rotors and brake pads. The rotors are still good, although... I want to change it lol.

I did search and read few, but most of you track the car. I don't track the car. I daily drive the car, I have a winter in which I use the car

I am looking for good brake pads and rotor kits. I looked at the hawks but I am open for more ideas.

Budget: 900$ for front and wheel

What did you like/dislike about the oem?
Why replace rotors that are good?

I would say get a used set of oem rotors and pads.
Or centric rotors and some low end performance pads like stop tech.

Go with OEM brake pads. Rotors, eh anything will do. If your rotors are not worn down there is no need to replace them.

If your not going to track, there is zero reason you need better pads. Unless you want break squeaks every time you use your brakes. Cause that's what performance brake pads do.

If you want to hard park, I suggest Brembos and drilled, slotted rotors. Or just paint the stock rotors red.

They have some sign of wear, and I was thinking slotted/driller rotor. However, for the brake pads they are almost done. StopTech is a low end performance good for street use? Which one from their models should I get?

Should I just get OEM everything?

I understand your logic, you are right. Is there something better than OEM however doesn't squeak?

6k for a new purpose built set. much cheaper to take off and mod from another car. i think the 300zx brembos fit, or something.

Just get more OEM pads. They work great, and are perfect for what you use the car for. Re-use your rear rotors.

You budgeted $900, this is gonna cost you less than $100. Put the other $800 in your portfolio/savings account and we'll call it even.

You can go all OEM if you want to.
Nope. Performance brakes don't work that way. The better the pad the more noise.

TRD Pads would run you about $130-$150, supposedly a small upgrade from stock.

Will they squeak a little? Sure. But properly bedded pads shouldn't squeak all of the time.

I'm curious how you managed to kill the stock brake pads that quickly without taking your car to the track.

Especially in the back... I never wore out track pads on the back and they were on the car for over 30k miles and a number of track days.

Yeah, I just changed my front track pads out because they were about 15-20% left (better safe than sorry) and the backs are maybe 25% used.

I fried my OEM pads last year at the track (that's what I get for being lazy and not changing them) but up to that point they were barely worn.
