speed is also a big factor. I set the cruise to 90mph and it dropped my mpg to like high 20s. But if I drop to 70mph i can get mid-high 30s.

Interesting... I was driving for about 45 min and averaged a little over 36 mpg. I was ranging between 68-72 mph, temp was about 75 and using Shell V-Power 93 octane. I get better fuel milage with the Shell than Sunoco Ultra, but not to large a gap

Cruise control does not yield the greatest fuel mileage. Constant throttle position does.

I tried to explain this to a family member that has a doctorate. He refuses to believe me. Sometimes degrees are overrated. However, for most people cruise control will probably yield the best fuel mileage.
