One long trips (like 10 hrs at interstate speed of 55-70 mpg) I often hit an average of 44 mpg on the trip computer, using 93 octane gas. This car is like having a hybrid!

Cruise control at 60mph for 200 miles on 101 I got 44mpg. Real value @40 according to fuel calc.

So you bought a sports car to get good gas mileage? Maybe you should look at a Chevy Geo. My cousin gets 54 mpg with his.

That thing lies through its teeth. Mine regularly says well over 30mpg, even though I'm actually getting mid-20s.
Disappointing, as on our two Subarus both the temp and MPG gauges have been pretty accurate. |

I'm happy that good gas mileage comes with this car. I was driving an average speed of 82-88mph through parts of the country when driving coast to coast and got 34mpg (through calculation during fuel-ups). Less than $300 in gas driving from NY to CA. I was very impressed.

Feel good about it after you have confirmed it with actual math (actual miles driven divided by actual fuel used). The car's computer is notoriously inaccurate.
(The mileage is still probably very good, even if you haven't actually hit 40 mpg.) |
