Thread resurrect! Just installed an SRP pedal I custom ordered through their website. I installed it kind of cockeyed and titled to the left to get closer to the pedal. I can finally hit the accelerator with the side of my food while braking. I can't turn my need inward without pain, so this is a huge deal for me. Heel-toe is actually doable now. Previously, I've been putting my heel on the brakes and toe on the accelerator, duck-footing it, and it has sucked. I just can't get it smooth. It's much, much easier now.

Very nice, but the SRP website has them for $129 +$33 for shipping, and Enjuku Racing has them for $79 +$27 for shipping. That's $56 less.

Anyone try the Neoplot Accelerator Pedal? It looks similiar to the original prototype pedal. There is also a Neoplot dead pedal option.

My SRP pedal is significantly wider that stock. I also turned it so it is effectively even wider. Not sure what you got that isn't wider.

Resurrected again ...
I have a Sparco gas pedal. The screw holes are down the center. When I removed the throttle assembly from my car (very easy thanks to this thread), I discovered the throttle arm (or lever) runs down the center back of the OE pedal, and is pinned in place. So ... how can I screw my Sparco pedal to the OE plastic? I could push the pin out of the throttle arm, remove the OE pedal and cover, and screw the Sparco pedal to the center of the pad (preferred), but that will make the plastic pedal impossible to reinstall (the screws will be in the way). Some of you must have attached your after-market metal pedal to the stock plastic pedal with screws. How did you manage it? Or did you glue it on? Last edited by ansibe; 02-03-2016 at 09:33 PM. |

Srp pedal attaches with screws. I just removed the cover, aligned the pedal where I wanted, then screwed it down. In retrospect, I could have skipped the cover removal and screwed into the exposed plastic,not bothering to remove the cover.

Oh I see, it uses self tapping screws, not bolts. Any sign of the pedal loosening?

I did the same (remove OEM pedal cover, then screw SRP pedal cover in place with the provided screws, but I aligned it with the factory nubs on the pedal) and no signs of loosening after a year and some autocross and track time. It's one of my favorite mods to the car. I actually tend to forget it's even there, which is great

I installed my SRP without even removing the accel pedal cluster assembly.
Just crawl under there with some vise grips and go gorilla on the stock metal cover - No you cant "save it". Then screw the SRP pedal on. I intentionally put mine as close to the brake as possible, but now its a little too close. I have to make a conscious effort to not hit the gas when being lazy with braking. As mentioned above, you WANT the gas pedal to sit lower than the resting (disengaged) point of the brake, because (in theory) you should be depressing the brake already when you go to press the gas. And in this car it is more of a foot-roll than a Heel-toe. In my racecar (vintage Porsche), it is a true heel-toe because the gas pedal hinges from the bottom on the floor. So when you are pressing the brake with the ball of your foot, you move your heel over and depress the base of the gas to control it. |
