Olive oil would be Group V. Quote:
Miller's Nanodrive, being triple ester based, is Group V as well so I guess we're not actually too far -Dennis |

Here is mine. 3000 miles, 10 track days, exclusively E85. Just spoke with Harry at Performance Racing Oils who said to ignore the red flag on the oxidation number since Nanodrive uses ester base stocks. The baseline shows high oxidation numbers as well but the lab is reporting it as a false red flag. He said it looks great considering the amount of track time it has on it. |

That's very similar to the uoa I posted at 5,000 miles @ 460whp e85 on my oil. Including the oxidation levels.
Though I have substantialy more zinc and less dirt.(silicon) viscosity is the same too. Interesting.

Thanks again for these enlightening reports. Solid. Miller's, Motul, Red Line, Royal Purple. Anybody trying the German ester based oils? Pentosin. Liquimoly.
Not that you track/E85 dudes would be inclined to do so, but I am interested in how thin someone could get away with. These ester based oils are so shear stable. Maybe RL 0W20/5W20 or RP 5W20 HPS. It has been suggested that viscosity can be masked by fuel dilution+oxidation. |

I'm on 5 quarts 5w20, 3 quarts 10w30 amsoil dominator for the winter now just for the ease of cold start cranking if it gets that cold. I also pulled my oil cooler out.

@ATL BRZ any idea why Miller recommends 3k oil changes on E85, yet you have UOAs showing 3k track miles and 7k street miles on E85 showing good results?
I want to run Millers, but not at 3k oil change intervals, it's just too pricey at that point. |

The severe oxidation flagged by Polaris could partially be because this is a ester based oil and high oxidation readings are a trait of ester based oils and not necessarily "true" oxidation (need a VOA to tell), but the fuel dilution is far from good at 6.1%, IMO. The fuel may be causing oxidation as well. Quote:

Did you managed to keep this oil running for a longer mileage? Do you know what is the recommended oil change interval? I was eager to try this but i want to keep it for at least 10.000 km, at least. |

I actually did. I went to 10k miles. The UOA came back as fine. It was DEFINITELY time for an oil change but there was no wear or damage. I now change at 7500mi. Based on all the UOA's 7500mi seems to be a good time. Keep in mind I am not tracking the car but I go to redline quite a bit and drive quite spiritedly.
