Leaving the Genesis. Where I go from here...
Key takeaways from this thread:
1. There is no perfect car. 2. OP should make his own car because no car, or no car that exists, is right for him. 3. In spite of a few flaws the Genesis truly is a remarkable car. 4. Sounds like he's trying to really sell us on the Genesis. Maybe we should all go buy one and sing kumbaya together Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was actually in the market for a luxury sports car prior to buying the 86, but what sealed the deal in the end is that luxury isn't as important to me as the smile on my face when I'm driving, the power of the car isn't really a huge factor in that which is weird because you get a whole subset of people insisting that if x car cant do a quarter mile in y seconds its worthless, or how fast it can do 0-60 and such.
I bought the 86, and did some modifications to it myself, and it was while I was lay under the car in 34.c heat, working on the real LCA's that it finally hit me, I don't love this car because of what the car is, the brand, what other people think of it, or how fast (or slow) it goes, I love this car because it's so easy to craft it to your personal needs and walk away with something that even if to everyone else is "just another twin", to you is unique as hell. |

Fiat 500e is awesome. Abarth is awesome. Regular Fiat 500 is a turd, though. If I somehow end up buying the 500e we have, I'll put in a grippy seat, a steering wheel extension, wider wheels, and redone suspension. Stock the 500e is a hoot. With proper suspension and seating, it'll be fantastically amazingly awesomely stupendous. Fuck yeah. An LSD would be nice, too.

Though to be honest a few frs people that were prospective buyers did post over on the genesis forum. And a lot of people talked down the twins. I came to the defense of those cars at the time too. But like now I feel obligated to defend the genesis. They were both really great cars. And they both do what they set out to do so damn well. I like the genesis a lot. But only as a gran touring car. Not a sharp sports car. I know I'm not gonna convince every person on the Internet the genesis is good. People have there biases and preferences. I like both cars. I had one. Now I own the other. If your leaving this platform I recommend the other. That's all I'm saying. I get that this is the frs/brz board. But do we always have to say the twins are the best car out there in every way. Same with genesis owners too. There both just good at different things. I'd defend either frs/brz and genesis from people that talk down the car. Not trying to cause s argument or competiton here. And I think the perfect car is a porches |

Haha, but didn't you say you hate the styling of Porsche sports cars?
![]() I will agree that some FWD cars are fun to drive, and are even more fun that some RWD cars. I mean sure, a Mini Cooper S is probably more fun to drive than a Lexus IS250. But all things being equal, in my opinion RWD will always be more fun. That being said, in reference to mention of the Integra Type R, I'd like to say that if dreams could be reality I think the BRZ mated up with a B18C5 or K20A engine would be heaven to drive. Finally an engine worthy of the fantastic chassis. An engine that actually enjoys revs, sounds good while doing it, and is as bullet-proof as they come. ah to dream

That thread on the Genesis forum was something to behold though.

I was talking about user Twin4Life. However, I appreciate your views of both cars. It's good to hear from someone who has owned both and not just one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
