sticky leaving first gear

Hi I've had a slight issue start becoming more noticeable.

When I am exciting first gear for second it started like a tiny magnet was holding it in I had to put enough pressure on to pull out. Over the last week its become a very strong snag feeling and getting worse.

I'm not speaking about entering 1st or second. That is also difficult at times but no more than other manuals I've driven. However I have never felt this sickness leaving a gear. It could be related to me practicing rev match down shifting into first at low speeds but it was never anything intense. Any one ever expirience this in any car?

Does it do it when the transmission is warm ..... or just when it is cold .. ??

You're not getting "lazy leg" are you .. ?? (just not pushing the clutch all the way down when shifting).

Goes away completely when warm yes. It even makes me giddy it shifts so nicely after driving a while. its just a little worrying because it didn't stick in this way the first few weeks I had it even when cold. I will double check for laziness tomorrow.

My first shift out of 1st is always like this when my car is cold.

Well, swpbrz, more than likely, it's just the nature of the beast.

I'd suggest that when you shift the cold transmission from 1st to 2nd, just pull the shifter "slowly & firmly" into position (with the clutch all the way to the floor).

Remember, you are moving a big ol heavy, cold gear, covered in heavy cold oil, along a cold surface with a relatively short stick. It ain't a toggle switch ....

Back in the day, we didn't seem to have that problem ..... wonder why ....
