Something like [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Thrust-Needle-Roller-60x85x5-Bearings/dp/B00KDPN0TK/ref=sr_1_4?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1437563977&sr= 1-4&keywords=60mm+needle+bearing"]this[/ame] may solve the problem for good, you shouldn't have to lock down the perches insanely tight.

The name sounds familiar, but don't think so.

Looking back, I've only ever run them on track cars that were taken apart regularly. I could certainly see long term usage on the street causing issues. Thanks for adding those options.

that sounds dangerous as fuq. if it is lowering itself then that means the coilover is spinning clockwise while driving?

How much preload do you have on the springs? Really don't see how the collars can move in relation to the threaded body once the collars are locked into position. If it's so tight that you have trouble loosening how do you suppose it's lowering on it's own?
Springs do tend to sag over time. Also, right after installation it will sit a few mm higher than it would after the springs "settle". Maybe that's the problem? The ride height is not truly 'set' until you've loaded and unloaded several cycles after installation. |

The suspension is not lowering a few mm, it's lowering from about 1 inch of threads all the way to the bottom. Sucks that I won't know if it worked until I check again in a few months.

If it's the collar that locks the lower 'cup' in position, then somehow that collar is not doing it's job and allowing the shock body to rotate threading into the 'cup'. Might want to call Tein and complain to them. Maybe they already know of this problem and have a solution. |
