I only went the flathead route after using the spanner wrenches with all the force I could and still they lowered and a friend suggested he used to use it. I think the dirt might be the reason for them lowering.

Think about it, do you think that's a good idea? If you have to tighten them past the keys then something else is the problem

Check out fortune autos video on YouTube about setting up their coils. They specifically mention using a flathead and hammer to get them good and tight.

No, but when the manufacturer says this is how you install their product, I tend to listen to that.

Not when something as obvious as jumping off a bridge it isn't and if their are telling you to do that then what does that say about them... Theirs a reason the keys are their for... Oh wait just throw them out, use your flat head and your

Do you have any sort of bearing between the spring and perch at either end? Springs torque when they compress, and if there's nothing to let the spring rotate at one end, it could be rotating the spring perch.

It seems simple enough, and I don't see anyone else having that problem. It happens on both fronts.

Help???

@CSG Mike @Racecomp Engineering
I installed my Street Flex's approx 2 months ago. Today, I brought my car in to get my tires rebalanced and with all of the wheels off, I noticed the exact same problem on both sides up front. Fortunately I had the coilover wrenches in my car, so I retightened with Hulk force strength. Hopefully it wont happen again but I'll monitor it more closely now.

What actually tipped me off is that there was a lot of slack in the spring (basically not preloaded at all). I remember when I installed them, with the standard Tein preload the springs didnt have any slack.

I sort of had this issue when I first installed them but only with the fronts. They lowered themselves until it maxed out. Then i realized I did not tighten them enough even thought I thought I did. I used the Tein Keys and used a socket wrench where it had that square hole to get more leverage and turned it until it would not move and now they have not moved at all even after ample track days.

I noticed the socket hole today, and will use them next time I tighten them. Great input man, thanks a lot!!

it amazes me that Tein is considered a quality product. After seeing how quickly their springs sag, i was turned off for life.

sorry you're having this problem man. you could drill/tap your adjustment perch, and put a setscrew in to jam the nut into the thread, most other companies use this method. or a collar clamp would work (look on mcmaster.com for collar clamps)

Many times this.

A radial bearing setup that allows the spring to rotate independently is the fix.

Tapered threaded bodies all seem to do this, which is why you have to lock the collars down so tight.
