It could easily be 6 inches longer for us tall guys. Unfortunately it would then be hazardous for normal-sized people.

Try raising the seat. When the seat is higher, your legs get more distance to the pedals for a given arm distance. a^2 + b^2 = c^2. Werd. You can adjust the clutch pedal downwards pretty easily, too.

Maybe I can put some washers in the front of the seat bracket mounting points so the front of the seat is higher, thus making my legs further, allowing me to sit closer to the steering wheel. Not sure if that is a good idea or would give much change. |

I don't think it is a fat people or safety problem. Think this - even now, you can adjust the seat forward to "hazardeous" position, so I cannot see the reason why 1 inch closer possibility would hurt.
P.S.: if you sit higher your arms are further too, arn't they? Not that much because of the angle adjustability of the steering wheel, but even then. Also I love to sit as low as possible in every car, sitting high feels unconnected to me.

I know it's a bit steep but the J-luth wheel has some slight dish and keeps the oem airbag. Extends another 20mm and looks pretty awesome too!

Head's already touching the liner with the seat lowered and leaned back. Don't need no math for that.

It might "feel" hazardous but I guarantee it has been tested and proven otherwise. A quick-release collar would extend it a couple inches but it's not enough for me. Swarb, have you looked into the fully electrified ones?

Sorry, I can't help you genetic freaks. I will call you guys sight-line challenged.
I believe the mirror does adjust upwards some. I found this photo of you, swarb. Big legs, big torso, little arms: http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...6d/T-Rex_2.png In the BMW, I had the front of the seat lifted and the back dropped, but I think too much of that may be bad in a crash. I suggest you guys get a car that fits you, like a Land Cruiser or a Mack truck.

The Key!s Racing OEM replacement wheel is a bit smaller in diamter and it sits a bit closer to the driver as well. I had it in my car prior to selling. It retains the stock airbag and other OEM functions.
Very nice quality too.
