OBDII socket trouble
Hello everyone,
my OBDII socket is playing stupid. A recent (and simple) upgrade with EcuTek got us mad, the software could'n not find the OBDii signal. Often also my BT dongle doesn't connect. Wiggling the plug at the end works, but it makes things worst in the long run. It's obviously a hardware issue: the socket is flimsy to start with and some of the pins/contacts got some slack with the usage. On the solder side. I need to rewire the socket or take some measure to secure the pins once and for all. Any experience or tip on this? How would you do it?
Thanks y'all |

I'm curious if anyone else has connection problems after latest Ecutek update?
I am having issues with EcuTek dropping connection (during logging or flashing) after their recent update as well. On both of my laptops and on any port (one has 2 usb ports, the other one has 3 usb ports). For me though, it's always the cable, never the usb key. I suspect they might have updated the usb drivers their soft uses and the new drivers are buggy. Or it could be my cable going bad and it's just a coincidence it happens at the same time I have updated my software with their latest revision. I have sent a PM to EcuTek (since I couldn't find a support email on their web) a few days ago asking if I could get their previous built which was working well for me but so far haven't got a response. Seems like they use their account here just to make the same advertising post on all threads.

One of these might help. I'm not sure if they have the correct one for our car, but it shouldn't be hard to make a mount for the one I linked.

Email the sales email address, it still gets seen by the same people.
I will try mine tomorrow and confirm if it's a software issue.

I use it with a Pivot gauge, a BT dongle (Torque) and the Ecutek: its connection is spotty all the time. I can see the pins receding when you insert the plug. Quote:
