Next year I may consider looking into renting out 4/4 of my townhouse and getting another closer to work (NW downtown). They are going to build a 12 story building one block over from my work in a couple years so I may also just save some money to buy one of those. One block commute would be nice.

@Decay107 is going to talk to you about my car @Ultramaroon and @Jonesy86 can I have your 4 injectors. I'll probably only use one if my one is bad but if I do use it I'll buy it off you. Perhaps @Ultramaroon can grab it from you when you both work on your car tomorrow. Hopefully I can also get his help. I'll make it worth his while if need be. Also if I can use that grease for the injectors too that would be super. Round of drinks on me if we can get her working by Sunday!

Damn Josh. Sorry to hear you're having this problem. I'd offer assistance being I live a couple blocks away and all but I have no experience doing a helicoil. My company uses Ford trucks from around 2000 and I can tell you that they puke out spark plugs all the time and we have to have helicoils installed to allow installation of new plugs. Once they are done they are better than new.

I was able to get an o-ring washer seal with the help of Doug and his track pipped, uncatted loud beast. I slapped the injectors into the fuel rail tonight. I have enough thread in my manifold's fuel rail bolt to hold it in place (added red thread lock) but it's only just barely past me using my fingers to tighten it. It just spins if I use a wrench but doesn't come out when I pull on the fuel rail. No engine codes yet. I wonder if the only issue was the washer in the injector? Not really sure but I did swap the two injectors so if the engine code moves to the other cylinder then I know it's the injector and not wiring, that is if it will throw a code and act weird again for me.

I should still get ultramaroon to assist me in doing a helicoil on the hole however to make sure it's tight instead of finger with thread lock on the last little remaining thread at the end of the bolt hole.

At least keep a really close eye on it. Watch it as the engine heats up the first time and check the rail after each heat cycle. If it starts to loosen or if you smell gasoline, stop immediately. Carry a good fire extinguisher at all times. Take this very, very seriously.

Sir, I truly hope you are not driving it regularly in that state.

As they say in the facebook group, pics for attention.

If you really really need a car, a rental is going to be far cheaper than a flambe. Name your price rentals on price line can be had for less than $10 per day

Edit: for safety's sake I'd add some blue locktite to the non stripped hole

After I did the 'fix' last night, I ran the car in the garage for 20mins (left it sitting) so it was nice and hot. I rev'ed it multiple times while watching the fuel rail. Turned it on this morning and still seems fine. Drive to work today aka 'bought a lottery ticket' and everything is ok. If I make it home uneventfully, I'll recheck everything yet again.

Thanks for the Priceline comment for car rentals. Lowest I'm seeing is $25 per day for Enterprise, which is better than when I went directly to Enterprise's website.

If the injector stays fine until Ultramaroon helps with the helicoil Saturday then it should be quick if we can get the right extension or elbow thing for drilling out and rethreading the helicoil. Strut wall is in the way of my drill (no fancy elbows or extensions).

Car's fixed. Ultramaroon helped by putting in a helicoil for the stripped bolt. Worked great. We noticed that the intercooler's water pump is plugged into injector 2 which is the one that was freaking out. We figured out that it wasn't in all the way as Matt had the same issue today when he was fixing his car as well. All is well in the world now, just in time for the big meet tomorrow! I even painted my strut tower brace and cross bar braces crinkle red today while I was at it.
