You will need to log engine load in your logs as timing tables are load vs rpm.

quick look at logs suggest timing changes as per jb86d,s how to guide few posts back would solve most of your problems, that must be pretty ordinary 93 fuel.

better gass ?? cooler temperature ?? different gears means different loads to timing and fueling is different

You'll get more part and full throttle knock at highway speeds at lower RPM in the higher gears (higher engine loads). Downshift and make the pass at redline...

Was on same gas and temp should have been about the same.maybe even a little hotter I did a 3rd gear pull before to.

Unless you're going to pay a lot extra for a low throttle street drivability tune, you'll be in the exact same position. Most tuners on an N/A mostly stock car are only going to be tuning at larger throttle inputs, mostly focused on WOT.

Modifying a tune to remove some low rpm timing, or adding in more aggressive IAT based timing reduction doesn't take long at all.

You also have the option of driving differently... keep throttle application light if you're under ~3500-4000rpm and you shouldn't see this knock either. It's high load, large throttle, low rpm that does this. It's reproduceable in my car with a 91 octane tune (or stock tune), even in the dead of winter (low IAT's).

Like Will said, don't smash the throttle in high gears at low RPM, that should help with some of the knock. When I first picked up my OFT, I was on the diagnostics page and my IAM was 0.7.. On the stock OEM tune.

IAM of .70 is default for the stock tune, anytime you reflash to to OEM tune it will be .70 IAM.

Really? I didn't know that. Even if you bought a brand new car and ran the best 93 you could find, it would still be .7?

No, it defaults to 0.7. It can still climb higher. Shiv's tunes (and almost all others) default to 1.0 after a flash.

That said, mine defaults to 0 after a flash to the stock tune.

Its also worth pointing out it can & will go below 0.7.

Even on the stock tune on 91 I would get IAM as low as ~.4. Arguably an aftermarket tune with no knock might be safer than the stock tune, but who knows I know tuners argue about the IAM thing.

Basically let the ECU do its thing & correct the knock or tune it so you get no knock, afaik the latter will net more power. As IAM will be steady at 1.0.

Can temperature affect IAM? It's been 80F here and my IAM is stuck at 0.72-0.84. Yesterday it was 0.78 at 80F. Today it was 0.84 at 75F.

I'm on the Stage 1 91 tune on Chevron 92 gas. 2-3 fill ups ago I switched from E85 tune if that matters.

Hotter temp = more potential for knock = lower IAM if it knocks
