Mine makes that sound as loud as yours but not always, volume has a lot to do with how aggressive you are on the pedal.

I'm just glad to know it's working, not an issue as far as I'm concerned.

Edit: I seem to remember some people having the hydraulic system and actuators and throwout bearing replaced or regreased.

I remember there was a thread about this noise years ago. I can't find it now...

But mine makes this noise too. And I think it's normal since so many people notice this noise.

EDIT: HERE! Almost 3 years ago.
See post #21. OP tested with a brand new FR-S and it made the same noise.

Update 1:45pm

Dealer just called. They trying to open case wth Toyota. Seems like transmission not being lubricated or greased or something appropriately. Also mentioned clutch plate? Or something not being placed adequately. Haven't spoken with techy yet so hope everything turns out ok. Usually techs can explain what wrong in a better way.

For now they have me the eta of 3.5hrs to be ready. They also reflashing my ecu.

P.s. To the clutch sound. It's a normal sound according to 3 dealers I've visited, but can be reduced and sometimes 90% eliminated. This is what they've told me. IMO the twins aren't a Lexus but still shouldn't have that loud of a clutch pedal sound.

Does it happen when you slowly clutch in or out? I've noticed mine makes kind of a popping noise but only when the car is on and I clutch in or out quickly, which is the input shaft being halted suddenly from what I've been told.

Was due to certain parts not being tight. Tranny was also pulled and checked, greased, lubricated then tightened back. Shifts like a dream. Clutch sounds like my 1990 pickup clutch.

Update 5pm (sorry long day, took nap)

Got car back. Tech was busy but he shared that he found no actual mechanical issues other than certain parts needing to be greased up or tightened. He was in hurry since it was an hr before closing.

Clutch makes same sound but less, engages better and gearbox seems tight. Now it feels good. Ecu was reflashed as well, and after driving 100 miles, noticed mpg bump. 5-7+. Car smells like grease on the freeway now. Everything seems firmer and more functional.

Oh small rattle went away from 2nd gear.
