Clutch Vibrates at high RPM Shifting, normal?
Hey, quick bit of information. This is my first manual car so this may be normal, but I feel like it isn't. When shifting at rpm north of 4500ish (tested in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear), when I push the clutch pedal in I can feel the vibration of the rpm's dying down. I don't know if that makes sense, but I can basically feel the clutch vibrations die down with the rpm (ie heavy vibration at around 6000, starts to disappear as the rpm's progressively reach down to about 4000ish and then disappearing altogether. The car has currently 4400km on it. From what I understand, when I clutch in the engine should be disconnected from the wheels and I shouldn't feel this sort of vibration through the clutch pedal that lines up with the engine rpm. I apologize if it is normal, but I am concerned about this issue. I am looking for opinions, and if it is not normal I will be booking an appointment with my nearest dealer. Thank you.

Definitely take it to your dealer.. Especially with the low miles, there should be no vibrations whatsoever.
It could be a number of things, but something is out of balance, or loose, go to your dealer ASAP. |

I took it to Toyota and had 2 separate techs drive it. Their diagnosis was "Your car is lowered and has an exhaust, that's why you feel the vibrations." I'm not saying I believe them, but that's what I was told. My previous car was a 240SX. I had coilovers and a full 3" exhaust. No vibrations like the ones I feel now ever occurred. Go figure. |

Quick update, and then the thread could be closed maybe? Tech said something along the lines of "its vibration coming through the tires and your exhaust" but I think it might just be something else. They checked the transmission and said everything was working as it should and to not worry about it. Hopefully they're right. Thanks for the replies.

Tires? stock tires or are you running on thinner tires and are the wheels balanced and aligned? (if yes, then he's full of shit) |

Stock everything atm. Wheels are exactly as they are since I bought the car in may. And yeah, I felt like he was just offering a half-assed answer.
