Use a metal coat hanger

My friend and I got mine done up to the point where we realized the map light is doing something weird (reverse polarity?). So the courtesy lights stuck on all the time. I'll figure out a fix one day but it's fairly low on the priority list.

Dude you're late. I did this...like...a month ago. The thread should be some where above or just search door courtesy lights. I explained the whole idea of the ground controlled configuration.

I just finished the passenger side. Man getting it through that loom and into the door is really annoying. Punched a hole through it and zip tied it to the loom instead. Now for the driver side.

That's exactly what I did.

Is it possible to get any sort of battery powered module that will only power on when the doors are opened. This would prevent having to do any wiring, etc. I'm thinking of those closet lights that will only power on the LEDs when the door is opened...?!?

Then you have to remove the door panel just to change the batteries.

Ummm...you would just potentially remove the red light cover.

So it seems the only solution is to use the BRZ wiring harness, I assume...

I will definitely need to get this done, as this should have been setup from factory. The Monogram should have included this.

Bumping a very old thread but I figured it out!

I didn't use the harness. I wired a power source through the OEM door tube which took me 4 hours total for both doors. Passenger door went much smoother after I figured out the driver side.

To make sure my struggles didn't go in vain, I will do a short write up on how to shove the fucking wire down that rubber tube's butthole very soon. Everything else is just plug and play.

I wired my courtesy and footwell lights to my dome so they operate as close to OEM as possible, ie when the door is open.

As you can see from the third picture, no exposed wires.
