we'll everytime I said I have no issue waiting, he would tell me I'd be waiting for a long time and kept trying to sell me the display vehicle. what am I to do? they also didn't offer me any other options.

at scion of s.fla the car actually had a mark up of $7k plus $2k of scion installed options. I left the dealer. the next day the GM of that dealer called me and offered me the option to build my own fr-s to order. I have never even met this guy and he was willing to go that extra step to get my business.

why couldn't headquarter offer me this option instead of trying to sell me the display vehicle?

True, but if you have a customer who's ready to walk out the door it's more profitable to sell that customer something instead of nothing. The dealer would make a profit on the sale of the ordered vehicle.

Dear floridaguy,

I just recieved your report saying that the OP was "full of obscenity" and "offensive in nature".

This is false. We have discussed this previously.

IF YOU FALSELY REPORT ANYTHING ONE MORE TIME, I WILL BAN YOUR ASS SO FAST.

So, so fast.

Thank You,

You are absolutely correct in your assumption, and I feel the same way, but it is what it is in the car business. and in South Florida the following hasn't been since the hurricanes of 91, 04 & 05. When I was a little boy growing up in South Florida these words meant something

Thoughtfulness, Respect, Give & Take, Kindness, Customer Service, Neighbors.

Now they are words only recognized in other parts of the state. All of my friends buy their Toyota's 150-250 miles north and west of Palm Beach County, where those words ring true.

This is BS. One of the nations largest Subaru dealers in Irvine, CA, had a BRZ that was for sale to the public (car was not reserved) and they didn't ask more than MSRP. Why??? They don't want to alienate customers in the long term. Wonder why they are one of the largest Subaru dealers? It's because they understand long term market forces are more important than short term gains. Sounds like the Scion dealers in Miami need to figure this out. You guys in Miami could literally fly over here, buy a car, ship it back and still have saved a few grand and gotten an arguably nicer car.

Chill my unhappy friend.

As for floridaguy, OP may sound offensive or rude post (or other posts), but he's giving his experience he had. It may not be all true, BUT it's his side of the story. If you can tell your side of story, go for it. From there members will judge on this event.

Here's my thought on this event (after reading all of the posts). OP maybe over expatriating a bit... BUT if a dealer isn't giving me 2nd option & pushing to buy $4k extra FR-S, I might be in same shoes w him. I'll be upset... Correction, I'll be furious! Hell, I might be contacting several higher up SCION reps & see what's up w this dealer... yes, I'm very short temper person IRL, online I'm like a Buddha lol

Anyways, hope cheddar got it all fixed & gonna get the FR-S you wanted or preorder BRZ.

If you're in the South Florida Area:

MAROONE TOYOTA/SCION at Weston or ANY Maroone Toyota/Scion Dealers are the BEST! I'm telling you, the guys there HATE marking up cars and adding ridiculous options, if you want a White MT FRS right now, head over to Maroone Toyota/Scion at Weston! They have one on display for ~ $26k out the door!

Did they JUST get one in? Because I went by them a few weeks ago & they said they had no information on one yet let alone display a car

Wow that sounds like a dealer that is trying to rip off customers. $4,000.00 is over 4x the cost of those items; and pin-striping the car should DECREASE the price, haha.

Good luck getting the deal you want with good people. Thanks for the warning, Scion wont survive if they think playing games with real enthusiast will work.

Yes they got it last week. It's a white MT one. It's glorious. Although it does have FR-S Floormats & a Window Tint. But don't worry, they're fully knowledgeable about the car now (although i thought them some things they didn't know! which was hilarious coming from a 17-year-old talking to salespeople).

I honestly believe he's a salesman there, in which case it'd be relatively easy for him to get a picture of himself with the car.

What? No way? I spoke to the dudes there.. IDK why you would try to get the car, if they're like 6 people in line to get the car, but still they were pretty nice to me when I went

Try Lehman Scion and forget Headquarter Toyota and screw Kendall Toyota and that annoying little brat kid he has lol
