Did you really just post three times in a row?

This thread is valid. A markup is a markup and the op was just sharing his experience. No need to report it if it differs from your opinion... -__-

And I'm merging those posts...

Every car I have ever bought was purchased as it came when it was pulled off the truck (aside from mandatory things like doing the PDI and installing a block heater -- it's an Alberta thing ).

I would laugh at any sales person who tried to sell me any sort of "dealer package," etc. I would call every other dealership in the city and find one that would sell me one the way the car came from the factory. Failing that I would start calling further away. Someone will do it.

If you want to throw in nitrogen for free, so be it, or even cheap, but beyond that I don't want ugly pinstriping, or undercoating, or poorly installed tint, or any other crap that didn't come on the car.

Pin striping? Seriously? Tell the dealers in Florida to get out of the f***in' 1980's already. A good salesman or F&I manager will sell you these products after the fact, if they interest you. They shouldn't be trying to shove them down your throat at a ridiculous mark-up.

Scion needs to get their dealer network in line. If Audi caught us doing something like that we'd get our asses reamed! Once in a great while we install paint protection on a car, or add all-weather floor mats. We have no problem uninstalling them if it will make or break the sale. And occasionally we install a STaSIS performance upgrade package on an Audi and charge just for the parts and not the labor. However these are all things that some people actually want. Who the f*** wants a pinstripe?

I guess don't even have a problem with them putting them on the car, as long as they'll order me one and sell it to me without them.

Dealers can put whatever they want on a car in the showroom and ask whatever price they want, but if they're trying to force it on a car that I want, then I'd have a problem. It actually sounds like they were pretty up front about it.

Anyone going to Headquarter, shop the car for MSRP out of the area, once you have it, drive it there and let them know. This city is so ridiculous for certain things...

Ha i had a similar situation happen today. I've been looking around to see if anyones dropped out of ordering their FRS. They put me through the whole ordering process today, one person told me one thing, she was obviously clueless. Then the manager came in and told me they didn't have what i wanted so i walked out, he chased after me told me oh wait we did find what you wanted. So i wait around some more, and he comes in with the total for the car, 2grand higher than expected. Apparently they failed to mention they added in 2grand worth of crap. DCH Toyota in Torrance btw.

It's not about the brand, it's about the poor sales tactics enjoyed by dealers everywhere.

It's real simple: If a dealership tells you they added a bunch of crap onto the car to be greedy, tell them you want it stock for MSRP. If they act like you're asking for something unreasonable, simply tell them "No thanks" and buy it from a dealer who isn't full of themselves. Money talks.

when I told them I don't mind waiting. The GM told me they are getting 1 every 3 months. i'm telling you I was fed so much BS that I got frustrated. the only fact they did feed me is the car has a Subaru engine. that's the only fact they told me that day. everything else was a load of BS to try and get me to buy the car. btw if headquarter scion is seeing this, scion of S.Flo has given me the option to place a order on a fr-s the way I want it and for msrp. so you already lost 1 fr-s sale.

LOL! Yes, I am sure a forum full of car nerds, who have been having pubescent chubbies over this car for years, wouldn't already know where and for what the FRS is being sold for.

Someone might be able to BS the general public, well the stupid amongst the general public, but anyone who drops such a comment as that above doesn't deserve anyone's patronage (yes me and the rest assume you're a HQ Scion rep).

I got mine at Headquarter Scion and had no problem getting it just stock how it comes. Sorry, but the original poster just came to soon and tried to buy the display car. If you would have waited you could have gotten the same.
