Edit: If you ever see anyone's datalogs on the forum, linked to datazap website, notice that when they let off the throttle completely, the AFR's jump sky-high to max (like 20), because there is no fuel being injected anymore. |

Very surprised no one has mentioned the known and common flywheel noise on these cars. There's nothing wrong with your brz, my FRS and every other twin out there will do this when coming to a slow stop out of gear.

You might not hear it all the time because it's a specific mechanical situation but it's done it and it will continue to. Just as OPs and mine and everyone else in this thread. Follow the directions on the thread I posted to replicate the noise and I bet you'll get the noise every time.

Looks like you guys have have ability to adjust tune (OFT) You idle will already be 750 but go to the PI/DI tables and make it run 100% DI at load 0.2 for manual and 0.2/0.3 for auto worked for me no rattly sound in neutral, no A/C idle dips and smoother takeoff (manual trans) set all 3 PI/DI ratio tables cold/warm/hot to have full DI up to 0.3 g/rev load (see figure) If you have manual trans probably just up to 0.2g/rev will do. ztan put me onto this |

Could you perhaps post a screen shot of what the table is supposed to look like once it's done.

see links below I'm pretty sure the di/pi tables are same in the stage1/2 petrol tunes. As the above table shows just zero out the 0.2 column in all three di/pi tables the above table shows 0.2 and 0.3 load columns zeroed , pretty sure that was the OFT pi/di table. post up you table from your tune and I will have a look |

The problem with driving MT is that depending on what you are doing and your particular style there are probably 100 way of doing it "right". I bet we would have a very tough time getting 6 people to agree on a the "proper" way to clutch and shift on our cars alone much less agree to a general rules that appy across the board.

I am of the in gear, brake on crowd but I grew up in the era where e/p brakes were untrustworthy things that were foot operated and general seized up solid within the first year anyway.

If hill, gear: yes e-brake: yes If no hill, gear: no e-brake: yes But then there's also If no hill, gear: yes e-brake: no Last two options I don't think matters either way on transmission stress. We're way off topic now. |
