I tracked my car twice and noticed my oil temp go up to 256. and thats without vortech SC. So im putting oil cooler on mine along with it.

I THINK we start burning oil when oil temp go up higher than 230.

I'm installing my Perrin Oil Cooler soon simply for the reassurance. From what I've read, it's good enough for government work.

No oil cooler installed. AVO stage 1'ish turbo @ 10psi.
After dyno-tuning the oil temp was at 226F and on the street the normal operating temp is around 215F.
The highest temp I've seen in my logs is 230F. I haven't tracked the car.

Which oil type are you using
Shut, sometimes I reach 104c(219f) on a daily basis. I'm using 5w30 motul x clean, which I heard is on the thicker side. I'm also pushing 255whp and 200lbs on 5 psi

0w-20 from the dealer. Two more free dealer oil/filter changes and I might go to a 30.

I was using that before ever finding out about some forum members mentioning which oil is right for your car, so I did not measure the temps at the time; I wish I did. Do you mind me asking where you are from and the weather you are having?

I was surprised to see I hit over 260F this weekend at NOLA with my S2000.

I still have many free oil changes left under warranty, but I am installing my FI kit soon. I'm not sure if I should just continue using the dealer 0W20 or if I will run into trouble not switching to 5W30

I have decided to run an oil cooler until the free oil changes run out. After this I will switch things up.

Hi!

I have question about this oil cooler thing. What you think is best solution for me because here is not very warm in summer? I think I would need something to cool down the oil even little bit for the hot days.

Im not gonna track this car but sometimes driving can be pretty sporty!

I think small cooler would be the right thing but what kind of....

I have AVO kit installed with AVO 3" catted full exhaust and 8psi actuator
