Rough guide OTS Map Requirements:

Stage 1- For vehicles equipped with original header. Other exhaust modifications also compatible. Stock airbox (with or without aftermarket drop-in panel filter) also recommend. Premium grade fuel or fuel as specified by tune.

Stage 2- For vehicles equipped with aftermarket cat-less headers. Other exhaust modifications also compatible. Stock airbox (with or without aftermarket drop-in panel filter) also recommend. Premium grade fuel or fuel as specified by tune

91 (USA) octane or better required for 91 octane tunes
93 (USA) octane or better required for 93 octane tunes

Its ok to use a higher octane than specified by the tune but not a good idea to use a lower octane fuel than specified by the tune.

E85 required for tunes labeled E85 (ie fuel with 60 to 90% ethanol content)

Exception for Stock cars running E85 use Stage 2 E85 EL header tune http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67310

will there be a power loss or noticable change swithcing to stge 1

Stage 2 tunes run more fuel and increased ignition timing than stage 1 tunes as you are supposed to have a catless header which flows better.

Its not recomemded to run stage 2 tunes without catless header, you may get knock or other issues.

suggest you flash stage 1 tune.

Is the header catted? If so, stage 1. If catless, stage 2 UEL.

Is that so? Catted UEL requires a Stage 1 ??? Are you sure?

Yes, on gasoline. On E85 ethanol fuel you can use stage 2 (there is no stage 1 E85).

?

The Cdn. distributor of OFT advised me that with a catted UEL header, (w/intake, catback), stage 2 is fine.

Tech support at OFT also confirmed via e-mail.

Perhaps stage 1 is meant for stock header.

Openflash manager question

When I download data and my bins are listed only the original file is shown with a blue floppy disk icon which seems like it can be altered and my Modified files 1-5 are shaded gray which appears to be locked.

How do I know if I am running stage 1 91 or 93 Oct. It doesn't seem like I can load a stage 1 93 bin. I am D00C by the way.

Thanks

out of the box 93 database tunes are loaded, however not all rom types are in the default database.

you will have to download openflash manager software and tune files and possibly new template file see firts post

Finally flashed to 93 octane tune. All I have to say is wow! @steve99 thanks for your help. Definitely recommend OFT to any FR-S, 86, BRZ owner.
