Also, tune might not have trims set correctly yet. Mine always felt a touch sluggish there to me after a fresh flash/ECU reset, but a MAF scale and some tweaking and it feels fantastic all the time

Should I have to mess with the MAF scale at all though? I thought that only was needed with aftermarket intakes. I can definitely feel some good changes with the new map. I could see how the vvti sound could mess with me and give a placebo effect though. I actually kind of liked that sound!

My maf scaling was close with the factory intake, but every car is going to react slightly differently.

Guys so I have an OFT. Car currently sits at 1360 miles, been on stage 1 93 octane since about 600 miles. That's all I've done so far. On to my question:

I bought a vigilant MotorSports CAI. I want to install it sometime this weekend. I have never used the tablet to read diagnostics yet.

1. Once installed should I plug the OFT in and check for any numbers to be proper? Like MAF or A/F ratios etc to make sure the car is still driving at optimal performance ?Sorry I am a bit of a noob, what I mean is anything I should look for that should at a certain % : ratio? if that makes any sense lol

Have a look at your ltft long term fuel trims it will vary with rpm ie flow rates but should be less than about 6% maybe a bit more at idle. Have a look with your stock intake then compare when you install new intake. If ltft goes to over 10% then your going to need to scale maf .. Also look at commanded afr verses afr and see if thier are large differences when yor full throttle see links below especially maf scaling for mor info and basic bolt on mods guide

Hm i always got the impression that Swedens/ Germany 98 and 98+/99 ron was Superior to US 93, haw heard diskussions whit folks that imported supras and V8 musel cars, that almost ewery time delivers more hp on the dyno whit tweeking, Tham they did in the US?

My question is, what typ of Fuel ar the euro stage 2 mapps for?
Looked att the US mapps and those hade 91 or 93 oktane to schoose from.

Her in Sweden i run 98ron or 98+ron, but as i understand that is equal to yor 93?
Fot G or I series roms the oft tunes are basicly the 91 usa fuel maps which is about as good as 98 ron.

they dont offer the different octane tunes for petrol on g or i roms.

you do get e85 maps though and thats available in sweeden

if you get no knock on the maps affered then you could copy across the 93 base timing b tables from an equlivant usa 93 tune.

i just got the oft, i was going to turbo my car and decided against it. but i went ahead and flashed my ECU with this. Did all the nececary procedures. is it okay that i uploaded the stage 2 tune witha stock car? ran it for an hour this morning and at first it was slow to responce but i read that was normal but after awhile it leveled out and now driving amazingly. i run pure non ethanol 93 right now but stock everything else.

Stage 2 is for headers and full exhaust or e85. If you're stock, stick to stage 1.

From the first post in this thread, no don't run stage 2 tune on stock car (on petrol) its only for cars with catless header uel or EL.

Rough guide OTS Map Requirements:

Stage 1- For vehicles equipped with original header. Other exhaust modifications also compatible. Stock airbox (with or without aftermarket drop-in panel filter) also recommend. Premium grade fuel or fuel as specified by tune.

Stage 2- For vehicles equipped with aftermarket cat-less headers. Other exhaust modifications also compatible. Stock airbox (with or without aftermarket drop-in panel filter) also recommend. Premium grade fuel or fuel as specified by tune

91 (USA) octane or better required for 91 octane tunes
93 (USA) octane or better required for 93 octane tunes

Its ok to use a higher octane than specified by the tune but not a good idea to use a lower octane fuel than specified by the tune.

E85 required for tunes labeled E85 (ie fuel with 60 to 90% ethanol content)

Exception for Stock cars running E85 use Stage 2 E85 EL header tune http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67310
