Are you guys getting these mpg figures from the avg on the dash? Mine stays around 22-23 mpg with 18" wheels. I do around 90% city driving and 10% hwy. Is something wrong with my car?

I am boosted and drive like an idiot on 17x9s. I rarely ever get into 5th/6th. I get 19mpg. Is what it is.

No. You're fine. Fill it and go burn a hundred-ish highway miles according to a gps. Fill it back up and do the math. Your tall wheels are throwing off the odometer. (and speedometer)

I have stock wheels, and the mileage calculation on the dash in my car is wrong 100% of the time. I use an app on my phone to track my mileage using actual gallons, actual miles and actual math. The dash readout is consistently 3 to 5 mpg higher than reality. Who knows what your different wheel size is doing to it.

I would suggest either tracking your mileage yourself or getting an app to do it for you.

I shift around 3500 driving normal, and play a good bit with the car. The computer says 29.X mpg avg. about 60/40 city/highway. I calculate it with the odometer and divide by Gallons put in the tank and average within 1-3 mph of the computer +/- every time

Taller wheels cause it to register less distance than actually travelled - low MPG.

Taller overall diameter will do that, yes. As long as you choose the correct tire size to go with your taller wheels, you can maintain or be close to the OEM outside diameter and it won't have an effect.

Now, if your taller wheels are heavier or wider with wider tires, that would affect mpg.

I average 400+. Shift @ 2K. If I want to have fun between traffic lights, I drive one of my other cars.

this is true. i naturally drive laid back, and get 31 mpg in mostly suburban driving. that drops to 29 in the winter with my snow tires

I get, 32-34 consistantly, with a roughly even split of highway and city miles.

Keep this in mind, if you here the exhaust growl, then your mileage will suck. Can still get that few bursts in there, but no jackrabbit starts, and keep it reasonable.

These cars are fun as heck on windy roads, forget speed!!!!

Around here you're either 100% go or 100% stop. I usually only go WOT on on-ramps, but when I go I'm still at least 50-80% throttle. I usually shift from 4-5k, unless I want to get somewhere, then it's 6k+.

I don't get good mileage.
