Thats 390 miles per tank.....

And you cant hurt this car by "redlining" it.
It has a fuel cut before you can cause damage (unless you have a tune that raised the fuel cut)
If you miss a shift and mechanically redline it that is a different story

wtf ??!!?? how ???

I'm averaging about ~26mpg lol. Lot of stop and go and quick highway trips to work in the morning with 1 or 2 longer highway trips per week.
Ive been getting about 27 mpg per the computer on the car

A mechanical overrev is where you're trying to downshift from 5th to 4th and you accidentally hit 2nd. You're not feeding in enough throttle to overrev the engine, but the speed of the ground and drivetrain will drag the engine well past its tolerances.

5th, 4th, and 2nd used as an example.

Agreed... on longer trips that I've made where i did 90%+ highway driving I could see 30mpg, but I mean, there's no way I would see that kind of mpg daily driving to and from work unless all I did was open highway driving...

edit: I guess mpg would be higher if there was no traffic ever and not much stop and go

for me, it feels like driving this car like grandma is good way to not enjoy the car for the reasons it was designed. i like shifting at like 3500 - 4000 grand just cause...to get "good gas mileage" you have to shift around 2500- 2700 rpm which is snoozeville...

I commute 17 miles each way every day.
Then do mostly 2-5 mile errands. Rarely do any "highway miles".
I get 30 MPG.
2013 BRZ 100% stock 30k miles, with Stg1 OFT tune.
And I havent been driving quite as hard lately cuz I'm still on Snows.

possibly due to altitude there is less oxygen in air thus the ecu dumps a little less fuel. personally im tickled to get 350 on the highway.

30mpg isn't crazy for our cars if you're gentle, and the tank is 13gal. 13*30 = 390, if you run it allllll the way out.

Heck, even on E85 I can pull off 280-300 miles per tank.
