Coldest start possible on e85 stag2 oft?

What temperature where you guys able to start your car on e85? its roughly -10C (14F) here in the morning and I wanted to know if the car will start if I switch over to E85.

If not, what temperature do you think I will start without any issues !

lmao mine had trouble starting when it was 50*F. I switched back to 93 octane because of it, but they say mixing in a little bit of 93 octane will help bring the e-content down enough to where starting isn't a problem. I'd recommend getting a flex fuel kit at that point.

Getting E85 to start at those temps is going to be difficult.
It might be best to wait till it warms up a bit, or have a can of engine start handy.

cold start mods these guys did worked down about 20 degrees.
you can also add a gallon or so of petrol to make starts easier

A flex fuel kit wont help starts on E85 , its just the properties of ethanol that make it hard to start.

Was the car in the garage or plugged in by any chance?

I'll usually have pops and weird idle for the first few minutes under 40*F even with the cold-start IPW changes. Lowest I dropped down to using e85 this winter was about 25*F and started on the first try, albeit with the aforementioned pops and weird idle...

Depending on where you are, you might not be getting E85 from the pumps - in colder climates they switch to a winder blend with less E content to help the flex fuel vehicles with starting in very cold weather.

I have had the same issue and I'd also done the IPW changes.
Don't know what the popping is, but it doesn't sound very good. Found out that if I revved it to 2500-3000 rpm just once immediately after the engine had turned on, then the popping would not happen. Have you tried that?

The popping is just excess fuel being burnt. By giving gas, you push more fuel, so it ignites on the exhaust side causing the pop. It's harmless. There's a thread dedicated to how to get the car to pop and crackle more Mini Coopers and Abarth's pop and crackle like crazy
