Yeah, HDPE is softer than AL, but not enough to give comport from that thin 1/4" pad. To say, 2% enhancement in harshness?

Apologies. I shouldn't comment on forums before having a coffee in the morning.

What sort of top hats do the coilovers have? If they are solid could you replace them with rubber ones, either stock or group N?
