Tyres and brake pads every three or four months, but I'm getting smarter with tyres so it now costs me less.

Then I reckon it's all good, it always amazes me how people assume that regular intervals are fine when tracking their cars regularly.

My forester is now on 6 month oil change intervals, I'm a bit paranoid so rather safe than sorry.

With SuperCharger?
Im 27 and I am paying 1400 or so underwritten by Mutual and Fedaral.

That was the cheapest around at the time.

I think its time to shop around again.

The value my insurance is based on is R351k.

I'm 61 and they think I'm well behaved, not like you young hooligans.

Alexander Forbes gave me R1700 separately or R1100 if I slot it into my fathers household etc policy as the primary driver(Pensioners get such great rates )

Checking out a high-spec white tomorrow and the std white I'm hoping to pull and will let everyone know what I went with.

If totally desperate, do try Standard Bank insurance - used to cost me around R1200 if I recall, but their service is

Failing which find a private broker. But if you can bundle with your folks - do it for now!

To be honest, if you can't afford the insurance on your own name then you really shouldn't be buying it. Get insurance on your own name and build up a decent no claims bonus else you'll just end up in the same situation with high premiums again when you try taking it out in your own name.

Maybe ask them about loading your excess to drop premiums? Could be a short term solution while you're building up that NCB, just make sure you've got the excess money saved up because life does happen.

Not because I can't afford the insurance.. Rather because I was looking for the cheapest deal :p
Got it under my own name for the points you mentioned and to remove the admin of transferring the cash to my dad etc.

Hoping the premiums actually do go down when I got 25 but worse case scenario at least I'll have some insurance background to haggle with.

Sorry I didn't mean you specifically - just in general.

Good move either way, have you tried Alexander Forbes btw?

Just confirmed.
Going with a Standard 2012 Pearl White beauty

Std -> Insurance was more decent. First purchased car so not going overboard.
White -> Because it's white dammit

Last couple of questions, when I get the car on Friday I'd like to have the headlight kit ready as I am not a fan of the Orange tinge. Thoughts were I can get this?

Valenteni Darkend lights are also on my to-buy list so would appreciate someone giving me a contact I can talk too.

Lastly..95 or 93 Unleaded?
