Question now is do I go for the White one I saw or Silver.

Collection will probably be next week sometime. Thanks to everyone who has commented. Can't thank you on the forum(not enough posts? ) but your advice is appreciated.
Dude!! PM me the insurance company.

And white is the way to go (PEARLSSSSSS)

Silver will be easier to maintain but its bland!! No offense to anyone with a silver one

I'm paying R810 which includes my supercharger. My policy is underwritten by Santam.
But I should get a good deal because I'm an old grey-haired wrinkly who never goes over 80kph, and I've got max no-claim bonuses

LOL!!

Can't remember but I think I'm on 7 years NCB and got excess waiver as well. Very happy with Santam.

Forester got some light hail damage which Greenstone Autobody actually noticed - went straight to the drive in assessment center, had to confirm details on the phone and before the call was over I had received an SMS with the claim number. Got a call from Greenstone to make an appointment, took the car in and 2 days later it was dent free and shiny,

That's service.

That's wonderful service befitting a 1st world country - which we aint.

Reminds me of the time in Wales that we had all four of our tyres slashed by hoodlums at a remote location in the country. Fortunately I'd taken full insurance. Phoned the insurers emergency line, and within 90 mins we'd been casavac'd to the nearest town about 10 kms away, four new tyres fitted, and we were on the road again.

My Fozzie got some light hail damage about 5 years ago (and Lindy's Impreza too) and I've never bothered to claim. Sort of thinking - wait until something else comes up then kill two birds with one stone. And that's never happened. Guess that's actually good, not bad

Wow yes that's impressive.

I was thinking the same and now it's happened so it's back to a fairly clean slate. I've still got a bad scratches at the bottom of the front bumper but no point fixing those because it'll happen again during bundu bashing.

When I get back from KZN, my Foz is going to my tame Scooby tech for some much needed TLC. Mainly a service, but also suspension clunks, and my inlet pipe has got a leak - the short rubber piece between the IC and the throttle body. It's split alongside the clamp so it goes phhhht and gives a whoosh of hot air when I put my foot down.
Sounds like my s*x life

ROTFLOL!!

I know exactly which one you're talking about - mine was still okay but I've replaced it with a 3" silicone hose.

The cats must also be in a pretty bad state by now, most worrying is the one in the up pipe on your model. The ceramic dislodges over time and then it's fun & games. Time for a Chett tjoon and Wayne Hay decat I reckon. There can't be a better excuse than that.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
Ceramic dislodge, up pipe - huh?

You really shouldn't be drinking so early on a Wednesday (unless you're a golfer, then it's OK)

ROTFLOL!!

Long story short, you've got a time bomb sitting inside your exhaust that will eat your engine and turbo when it goes off.

I think you need to come chill out with us for a weekend sometime and explain all this intelligent kaka to me.
If you didn't get it - that was actually an invite

I've been half tempted to turn my old Fozzie into a track car instead of pulling the ars* out of my 86 on track.
I've seen (and been amazed by) how quick lightly modded turbo Foresters are on track - wow. The SUV on steroids

I worked out the other day that I've done over 600 laps on racetracks to date with my 86.
Nice as it is, I'm probably sitting on a bigger timebomb there...?
And I'm on track again on Saturday...

Haha thanks, will definitely come chill out next time I'm in Nellies. Which I'm hoping will be soon, I've had to learn many of these things the hard way unfortunately.

600 - wow!! I reckon just get some oil analysis done, I'm pretty sure that engine is good for plenty more laps.

I agree though, the Foresters are doing amazingly well on track, just add some decent brakes, coilovers from Pyro, stiffer swaybars and your sorted. Even so I doubt it would be as much fun as the 86.
