I've run both E85 and 93 oct and both work great. I did a test awhile back to determine what difference the E85 actually makes. Because to me I couldn't really feel any difference.
So this is what I did:
I made data logs under identical conditions using both 85 and 93. I recorded the ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure along with throttle position, time, RPM and roadspeed. I ran the tests on the same roadway and gave the different tunes time to adjust.
The test was to go full throttle at 30 MPH at 3,000 RPM in third gear and hold it to redline (about 80 MPH).
The results were that the E85 was consistently one second faster.
But I don't use E85 lately. The price of gas keeps going down and like I said I couldn't really feel the difference.

Both @WRB5titch and I have been running e85 for months. Only issue has been needing to crank a few times to get the car started on pure e85. This is resolved by adding 2gals of CA91 to ever fill up of 9 gals of e85.

Dynos put an e85 equipped '86 around 220-230 WHP and 200-210 WTQ. However no dynos exist (yet) with the completely new hardware. From what I understand, @Shiv@Openflash will be getting an upgrade kit so I have no doubt he will be running his usual thorough analysis on the dyno with it.

I have no feedback in the extra stereo stuff hookup other than to say my guess is that you just hook it up to the starter batter as if it were a standard battery. The dump pack batts are discreet.

Congrats man!

Correct. That's what I did and the starter battery handles my upgraded amp and subwoofer amp with ease.

Hey guys quick question about the LED reader. When I activate the ESC it seems to drop from ~28 to about 22.6 or so immediately. If I hold down the throttle for longer it starts to go from 22.6 to 21.9 very slowly. Is this normal? I feel like it would be impossible to run out of energy if it drops .1 every half second or so.

Also how are you guys measuring the boost? Can do you do it on the OFT or using obd2 and torque app?

Voltage is good.
Use either for measuring boost.

Yep, the early fast drop was totally normal with my kit.

Slowly dropping below that is also normal. Yes, you would have to hold WOT for more than 90 seconds before you were unable to boost. That indeed makes it near impossible to run out of boost on the street. You would be traveling well over 140 mph that way.

To measure boost on your OFT, add the Boost channel in the real time data display. It will max at around 5 psi (which for us, is fine).

Aside from the few posted times, anyone else clock some 0-60s or quarter miles? I gave it a shot (I am terrible at launching) and got a 6.4 0-60 with some gravel slip in the beginning, not too bad. Looking at 0-60 times on the internet I honestly have no idea how motortrend drivers are good enough to get 6.2 bone stock.

It's really hard to get an accurate time around my area due to lack of flat open ground.

@l0aded

0-60 is mostly about how willing you are to abuse your clutch and tires. With some practice and e85 you should be able to pull off mid 5s on the regular. Warning, if using apps like Torque to time your runs, you're probably not getting very accurate timing. All in all 0-60 is mostly about your launch. Try timing 5-70 or 30-90 or looking at your 1/4 mi trap speed to get a real world look at your performance and not your launch technique.

Mine had that issue before. Display was intermittent, but ESC was still on. Shortly after, I noticed the display started smoking up, so I turned it off immediately. I would leave it off and contact Rob immediately. He sent me a replacement.

What are the typical 1/4 mile trap speeds and ets? I'm already at 97 without boost so I hope its low 100s..

The spreadsheet from the first post has the only real world trap speed from @shif7i7down 14.01 and 104 mph running an older kit on a sort of mess around day. Pretty sure with some concentration and the much more current kit we'd see consistent 13's @ 106+.

@TM Typo on front. My 5th patch came in on 1/10/2015 not 2014.
