But yeah that AC pulley clicks on and off to activate the AC compressor. If your AC is turned off, it shouldn't activate at all.
FYI, that's not true. The AC is used to dehumidify the incoming air the facilitate faster defogging of the windshield.

Right, I forgot about the windshield defog setting. Its something I rarely ever use in Colorado the air here is typically so dry.

Ya its been raining so i left it on defrost since last week and thats when the clicking started. I moved the defrost selector all the way to the left from defrost to aim air solely at my upper body and now the noise is gone. Thank you everyone : )

That's not too bad considering people still flip out over the crickets ever since it came out @.@

But yeah.. People need to do their research..

At least in my BRZ, every time I push the AUTO button, the AC light will come on saying it is enabled.
Then the compressor will kick on & off based on if the temp is set low enough to warrant AC, or if window defrost is depressed.

So I typically hit the AC button and disable it after pressing the Auto button.

Funny thread. My most noob moment was when I was 16.

I had a Honda Civic and it overheated. I pulled over with my friend and looked under the hood, not know what the hell I was even looking for. I saw (what I now know) my upper radiator hose was split in half. I looked to my buddy and asked him "is that going to be hard to replace?".

He just shook his head and said I'll be fine.

We've all been there guys!
