Yeah, should be mucb cooler. Here in the valley we get pretty big temps swings between seasons.

I've been looking at oil pans and baffling lately. Seems like its only needed in sustained high Gs but is also cheap insurance. I think that and pulleys would be the best things while the motor is out

Any idea what happened?

BUT, it is a lot easier to do some of that stuff (oil pan) with a motor that is off the car. So if it's in budget, why not?

It's not in the budget because I'm buying a used motor but I think this will help the car a lot and maybe help avoid whatever happened to me!

Which oil cooler is that with the shroud?

I did a RacerX oil pan and am still in STX. The windage tray is bolted to the block. I am not sure that Moroso baffle plate is legal.

Will that oil cooler shroud work on a BRZ? I just got an oil cooler and don't want to install in in front of my radiator and intercooler. I'd rather have it off to the side/sacrifice a fog light.

I think the moroso bolts to the pan without any other modification... so, okay?

What's the best solution of the oil pan?

Best solution is probably the RacerX pan. It has baffling, and adds 1L of capacity, helping with temps. Downside is you have to trim or remove stock header heat shield (fine in stx).

The Moroso is cheaper, works in the stock pan. Up to you, I think. Not sure who else makes them, yet.

No motor is "junk".

I prefer to think of them as racing hondas in another dimension!

Its a Blitz cooler. Its overpriced but i like how it mounted and had metal braided lines cut to length with AN fittings already put on the hose. Moroso is sandwiched between the oil pan and block and doesn't modify anything so it should be legal.

oh man! What happened? Glad you found a replacement so fast. Oil coolers are now ok for ST classes and thats awesome. If I had my engine out I would do that and an oil pan. Mounts also, why not?
