Pop, loud whirring no power to the wheels

As of two days ago, as I was driving up my work place parking garage I hear a loud pop and lost power to the wheels.
The car starts no signs of leaking of smoke. But the car in neutral does make a whirring noise that coincides with engine rpm, ie low rpm low noise, high rpm loud noise. The car won't move and it seems it's coming from the rear right. Also the car won't move in gear, and to add the noise gets louder when in gear even tho the car is in complete stop.

Thanks. Oh and this happened on my birthday

MT or AT? Put the car jackstands. Look under the car and if there isn't anything obviously broken start it up and parking brake off and put it in gear (being very careful) look under the car. Is the driveshaft spinning? If yes, check the diff and axles. If no, your problem is the clutch or something in the trans.

No problem. I'm curious to see what broke and why, I've heard the transmissions are a weak point on these cars. Is the car stock or are you pushing some extra power through it?

Hmmm, maybe just over revved the clutch? Have you put the car in a lower gear than the engine could handle if you released the clutch? Like say your doing sixty coming up on a stop and you throw it in first with the clutch in without having slowed down much. My sister did that when she was first learning to drive, the clutch just exploded into tons of dust.
Note: the clutch doesn't always explode immediately, it can just be weakened enough that after a while it falls apart under normal driving.

Clutch/throwout bearing/flywheel assembly, or a busted input shaft on the transmission.

Uhh I clutch kick to induce a drift, so maybe?
Would it be covered by warranty??

Thanks hopefully I'll really know by Wednesday. What would the warranty cover from those you listed?

All or none, depending on what the dealership says.

You need a mod-friendly dealer, but it's hard to say what is broken until the car is on a lift and parts are taken apart.

I'm going to guess the right side output shaft popped. Outer CV joint.

You dont even need to jack it up, just look under the rear while someone is trying to drive it forward in gear.
Bet is that one of the halfshafts is spinning because its broken at the outer joint.
