I traded in an 04 325i coupe. Very similar feeling in a straight line. But my Subaru would eat my old bmw alive on any turn or curve. Couldn't be happier.
Also cops don't bother me what so ever now.

I went from a 330whp STi to my BRZ Aozora. STi had some electrical problems that started from a crappy alarm install and progressively got worse. I had to get rid if it when it got to the point that the electricals neutered it. I miss the STi. It was my baby. The BRZ isn't as fast, and nothing could compare to how the STi handled the snow. But, I love my BRZ too. It's more fun in the corners, smaller, easier to park, it looks awesome... And my fuel efficiency is literally doubled compared to the STi. I wish I could afford to keep both.

Why even do the trade if you felt it was a downgrade in every regard? Seems to me that in your own opinion you made a mistake.

I had a 2013 Audi TT-RS. 0-60 in 4.1 sec, AWD and leather everywhere. However it was a car where going fast was no big deal at all. Around town you could almost never push the limits of the car. With the BRZ, steering is much more precise and you work the engine to much higher RPM's. You can slide the BRZ around whereas the TT rarely ever let go in a corner. I like the idea of having a simple sports car that looks great, is fun to drive and economical. No regrets at all.

My friend has one and feels the same way, on a daily basis it ends up being boring. He spends a lot of time with it on the track so for him it works.

Who traded "down"?

I traded in a GTR for an frs...
It's definitely a trade down to some but it seems like a trade up to me. No more gas station trips every 2 days, no more fitting in tight spots of San Francisco, no more of strangers touching my car.

No... I'm just kidding, I traded in the 98 civic for the 14 frs, definitely a trade up, it had better mpg than I thought it did. Honestly as much as the civic before I started modding it.

I think technically I traded "down" but in so doing I got something better suited for me. I had a 2013 Ram 2500 Crew Cab Diesel 4x4 but having only one four wheeled vehicle was really sucking for my girlfriend and I after moving cross country (California to Maryland). So I traded the truck for my FR-S and a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited that she mainly uses. Everybody's a winner.

But after this car, wooo boxer engine is the way to go with. Idk what I like more toyota's car or Subaru's engine but either way, toyobaru is the way to go!
