I was under boost when it went so that may have made the difference although you wouldn't think it should. Got pics (actual pics) someplace.

Traded up from a Celica. The FRS is better in every aspect, save for the feeling like I was in a fighter jet cockpit :/ also snow.

I traded up from a 1998 Nissan 200sx. Had that thing for about 4 years until I had enough for a downpayment on the brz.

I used to drive shit old cars.

My first nice car was a 2011 Scion tC 6sp man bought new. Loved that car. Had pretty good handling also.

Traded the tC for a 2010 Camaro 2SS. It was a bumble bee camaro. Had a bored and forged 418 stroker motor. Upgraded 1200 HP axles, headers, high flow cats, upgraded injectors, dual intake fuel pump, and a ProCharger Supercharger.

Put out 800hp at the flywheel. Did 10.2 in the quarter mile on drag radials. The car was an automatic. Got about 15mpg driving it economically.

The previous owner had put over 30k worth of mods on the vehicle. The sound of the engine/exhaust was just amazing.

Why did I get rid of it for a twin? I was eyeing the twins before I came across the Camaro for 34k at a dealership.

First issue I had was when I was driving the car hard, the clutch pack for 1,3,5,R gears went out. Replaced the transmission at the tune of $3,500

After a while of driving the car hard again, I started hearing the dreaded sound of a slipped rod bearing. It already seemed that I was driving my '98 Ford Ranger more than the Camaro, so instead of dropping more money into the car, I decided to just get something smaller and cheaper. The girlfriend and family agreed. Friends thought I was crazy getting rid of the Camaro.

I now drive a black '14 BRZ Limited 6sp man, and I'm very happy with it. It's MUCH smaller than what I was used to, but it does have some pep to it, and much better handling. The gas mileage is definitely an improvement, and the car payments are about $120 cheaper. In the 3 months I've had the car, I've already got 11k miles on it. Have definitely taken many road trips now that I have good reliability and mileage. It's also satisfying to have a manual again.

Definitely miss turning heads EVERY day, and looks/shoutouts from the ladies. Wasn't fun losing a drag race to a BMW 328i when I used to be the fastest car on the road at all times.

05 Mercede CLK 500 AMG. Some feel I traded down but not me. The Mercedes was a soulless car to me.

People who think of a car's value as a reflection social status worry too much about what others think. I traded my previous car in and never gave any thought to where that ranks me in social standing.

My 2010 Golf TDI went to my fiance and we traded her 2005 Toyota Matrix for it. Definitely a step up.

It was definitely a trade up, I went from a 1995 Honda del Sol VTEC to my FR-S.

You're also from Canada and probably don't share the stereotypical American materialistic outlook on self-worth

Can't speak for Calgary but Ontario is every bit as bad as the States (at least in the bigger cities).

Gave 1996 Integra GRS to my son with 160K on it. The FR-S totally more fun with RWD. Love the car.
