Yep, the same coverage I have on my CL.

$500 deductibles, $100k/$300k for liability and uninsured. I believe that works out to about $2300 for both cars for the year. The one ticket and my age really hurt my premiums.

Keep in mind I dont live in a city.

As a side note, he's in Virginia -- insurance rates there are a lot less expensive than in a lot of other places, Texas (your state) included.

It varies from company to company, but yes, three years is generally how long moving violations affect your insurance rates. But it depends on the company -- some go by three years from the incident date (meaning when you were actually cited for the incident), some go by three years from the conviction date (which sucks since it affects your rates for a longer period of time, especially if your case was delayed), some go by five years, but some companies go by three years but actually specify 35 months (which is obviously just shy of three years, which is beneficial for some people whose incident dates might be just barely within three years).

Seeing how you are in North Carolina, most (if not all) carriers there go by the conviction date.

Haven't gotten anything in NC. All my tickets were from FL so I was going based off of that and the questions asked when I was changing over the NC. Right now I use USAA so they're much much better than anyone else. Fk you progressive!

Be careful though -- while they based it on the purchase price of the vehicle, you have to assume that they keyed everything else in properly (bodystyle, engine specs, level of performance, etc.). If they didn't, the actual rate is going to change a lot, which could happen during underwriting.

yeah, just got off the phone with them and explained my circumstances to them, and they turned my insurance back ON! lol

For full coverage with CO mins they quoted my $76.62 a month!

That's a pretty good price, but at your/our age (we're within a couple years of each other), it would be worth considering better coverage limits than just the state minimums. Colorado's minimum requirements are 25/50/15 -- it's higher than a lot of other states' minimum requirements, but it really doesn't cover much. Obviously you don't plan on getting in any car accidents, but at 31, you probably have accumulated assets (whether your bank account, your car or a home) that you need to protect, plus higher coverages likely won't cost you much more compared to if you were 16. At least go up a notch to 50/100/50, though 100/300/100 would be even better and probably still wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg.

I pushed my agent of 14 years on this very hard and he assured me it would be that amount. I found it hard to believe, but we'll see.
