So with that being said and me being 24 about to be 25 in November, my wife would have to go and apply with them and then I would have to piggy back on her as well, or I can stay with who I currently have right now and once I do turn 25 apply with Wawawaaaa (that sounds soo funny). I think that is what I will do. Do insurance companies do price matches? lol

For personal insurance, no. The rate that they give you would have to be identical to anyone else with your exact information (location, age, driving record, vehicle, coverages, etc.), otherwise they can face steep penalties (meaning fines) from the Department of Insurance if they adjust rates for one person. It would be nice though.

Speeding ticket will stay on there for something around 3 years. The class basically is for not raising your rates during your current 6 months. After that or when you have a new vehicle and you get new insurance you're screwed.

It varies from company to company, but yes, three years is generally how long moving violations affect your insurance rates. But it depends on the company -- some go by three years from the incident date (meaning when you were actually cited for the incident), some go by three years from the conviction date (which sucks since it affects your rates for a longer period of time, especially if your case was delayed), some go by five years, but some companies go by three years but actually specify 35 months (which is obviously just shy of three years, which is beneficial for some people whose incident dates might be just barely within three years).

Seeing how you are in North Carolina, most (if not all) carriers there go by the conviction date.

But if we get a speeding ticket and take traffic school, then we don't get penalized (no points) on our insurance, right? (SoCal).

I used to have USAA insurance since I was 16, but if you take a look at the cars I've owned, USSA dropped me in my early 20's and I did not have a license for about 5 years, but I'm 31 now, and clean, so I will call USAA tomorrow and hope they pick me back up lmao.

Correct, if you did everything correctly.

Do you mean USAA (and not USSA)? If so, were you ever in the military, or were you on it because you were on your parents' policy? If you weren't in the military, it might be difficult signing up with them again if you were removed at some point. I don't sell them, so this is just what I've heard from other clients who also had USAA.

Then if you have other accounts with USAA, then they might let it slide since you haven't "left" completely.

Please post the USAA rates. I'd be willing to switch for if they're cheaper than the company I'm with now. Thanks.

Tried to get a quote from my company Safeco with one of the VIN #s.

Here is what I got and what coverage for a 6 month period. Left in my brother's 2012 golf TDI for reference. We are twins so the comparison is pretty solid.

Also note that I am 23 M, 760 credit score, and no tickets or incidents... ever.

Given my brother had a 2011 tC before at around $640 every 6 I am pretty sure they are pricing insurance at the tC's rates... which isn't good. I previously got quoted $600 for a WRX, $570 for a 2007 350z, and $550 for a v6 mustang.

Safeco is awesome... I have them myself and sell a lot of their insurance.

I'd recommend increasing your UMPD and lowering your comprehensive deductibles, both of which shouldn't increase your rates by all that much. Also look into Safeco's OEM coverage endorsement.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to talk to my agent.
