This TSB is being done on my FRS right now, but my windows do not appear scratched (yet). Hopefully the seals will nip it before it happens.
Your dealer should address it. Print out a copy of the TSB and give it to them in a helpful way. Read this statement as "Don't be a dbag and act like you're telling them how to do their job, etc"

Well it took a lot of getting transferred and me getting mad at ppl but the dealership finally agreed to replace the parts, windows and even tint the new windows! Showing them a bulletin changed everything. Thanks everyone for your input.

My Windshield wiper scratched my windshield pretty bad. And I only had the car for a month!
![]() Anybody else have this problem? Seems like sand or tiny rocks stuck in the wiper blades caused it. |

I suggest you print the TSB out and ask to speak to a manager or something directly, and show them this, you don't deserved to be jerked around for scratches that major.

Did this TSB actually fix the problem on the windows? Mine shows zero improvement after replacing this. In fact, I think it's worse haha.
I'm going to take it back to the dealer Wednesday and see what they can figure out.

I got both side window glasses replaced under warranty although I was claiming problem just with the left one. After a while - new but much smaller scratches appear. At least now there are no odd sounds. And it's day & night compared to the deep awfull scratches I had initially.
I don't know the TSB number though. Push the warranty officer at your dealer - he has to deal with it. |

Just an update: My dealership called yesterday and said they determined that the inner seals needed replaced on my car. (the outers were done 2 weeks ago) I'm looking forward to seeing if this actually fixes the problem!

I don't have scratches YET but even after they changed things before I still get the horrendous squeal when I do up the window. Pretty sure every dog within a miles winces in pain every time I do up the window (I know I do) |

Your warranty covers bumper to bumper to 36K. An update for everyone Apparently sometime between 2013 and now, Toyota (and possibly Subaru, too?) has redesigned the stabilizer for the window in the doors. My car had had the outer and inner seals replaced, which didn't clear up the squeals when wet. My dealership, Toyota of Bristol (TN), has been great through this. They worked with Toyota engineers and figured out that the window stabilizer had been redesigned. So far after the replacement, it has rained on the car without any noises! The window operation sounds a lot smoother altogether. If you're battling this noise, it is worth your time to mention this to your service tech/manager. Have the replacement parts put in!

To those that have had this fixed, do they replace the components with the updated design for both doors, or just where there were scratches?
I'm hoping for both and that I wont encounter the same issue later on with the passenger side once warranty is up. |
