Thumbs up Scratches on Outside of Driver's Window

I gave my car a good wash this weekend and when I was cleaning the windows I noticed some fine lines on the driver side window. There were actually 2 sets of these lines, all within a 2-1/2" strip running th entire length up the window. When I ran my finger across the lines the caught in the groves, scratches!!

I rolled down the window all the way a pealed back the weather stripping and noticed the scratches in the glass lined up with the window guides that help track the window as it moves up and down.

I took the car into the dealer today and they took the inside of the door apart and discovered the felt on the plastic guides had fallen off. As a result the guides were actually scratching the glass.

As a result they are ordering me a new window under warrantee and replacing the felt guides on both the driver and passenger side.

Check your windows to make sure you don't have the same issue as I did. Thankfully this was covered under the cars warrantee.

do you have a picture of what it looks like? is it on the inside or outside?

I noticed that i have two dirt stripes about an inch wide, running vertically on the outside of my driver side window. I don't have scratches i rubbed my finger and the dirt can come off. not sure if that's the same thing you guys are talking about.

Could this be related to the loud window squeaking issues in some vehicles?
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11417

Do you all have loud squeaks/squeels consistently?

I recently noticed this issue on my drivers window. I will be taking it in at some point to get fixed. As usual, if enough of us bring this issue in then they will need to resolve it with a better fix. Scratched windows you sometimes see on older cars but not 6 month old cars so I am a little dissapointed in this.

Have had my car for a week and already see a faint up and down scratch on my drivers window that I would imagine is from this issue. 456 miles

I posted a thread about this a couple months ago as well. I haven't mentioned it to Toyota yet. My problem with doing to is I already have tints and that would have to be replaced then too.

window scratches

I have 2 vertical scratches on my drivers side window about an inch or so apart. Nice to know it can be fixed under warranty, but still a hassle. Hope the fix lasts. (Not the greatest quality pic, but it shows the scratches.)

I just noticed recently my window seal is now getting squished by the window when it's rolled up (at the top.) It wasn't doing this before. I was aware of it happening to these cars because my friend had it happening on his FRS. I'm assuming the felt fell off the guides like the poster above. I wonder if the weather seal issue is caused by this issue?
