Try offering a swap on craigslist. Meanwhile, get a beater miata like fatoni said.

It what possible way does that change his AT to MT?
Although the Miata is not a bad little car buying one is certainly not the answer to everything.

Changing from at to Mt is going to cost more time and money than a race prepped miata. Do what you want with that information.

Wow, that is some really twisted logic as there are 100s of cars they could change too.
By that train of thought they could also just buy another FRS with MT and have two cars.
I don't think I saw anyplace where they were looking for a track only car.

You get 20k on trade-in. Then you pay 27k for a replacement. Maybe you can negotiate a better deal. Not counting the depreciation in there, of course. Or you can just buy a second car to have fun with the manual and keep the twin for what it is. Personally, I'd just live with the car and use the manual shifting a lot if you feel like it. Manuals are fun, but it's not like the car isn't fun with an auto. Shift a lot, why don't ya,

The easiest, most cost-effective (and trouble-free) to switch to a manual is to sell your auto FRS and buy a manual FRS.

The Frs trade in value is more like 17k, really depends on the dealer. Ive been to about 3 in SoCal and they all gave me an estimate of 16-17k. Btw that was 3months ago. So it might have dropped more. Needless to say I was extremely bummed. Just gotta live with the automatic, and build it, until a tranny swap becomes more cost effective. I also tried private party but everyone wants to either lowball,or buy ur parts.

That sucks. My dad is in socal and is thinking of getting an FRS auto. I'm sure he'll beat any dealer by $500. Though he wants graphite.

Keep the Auto, buy a cheap manual project car to learn and prosper. Everyone says Miata, though depending on your budget, you have a slew of great choices...

My FRS is an auto and my other car is a 5 speed. I haven't had any regrets 48K miles in.
Unless i drive a ZF 8 speed. Fuck....

because he is seeking a manual transmission for the sake of sportiness. replacing his current at with an mt is going to be a bigger financial hit than just buying a cheap miata. miatas are, imo, the most amount of sport or fun per dollar that there is in a car so its what i suggested.

I get what you mean but not everybody wants two or more cars. His was a simple question of how can I change this car not "what other car should I get"
I just get a kick out of how you manage to bring up Miatas for almost every thing you are like a Miata pusher.
Also love how I know you have a BRZ but your profile shows Miata (not a bad little car really) and a Mazda Speed 3 (you are actually proud of that?).

Not my problem as he will decide what he wants and you are free to promote you beloved Miatas all you want, so I will now remain silent on the subject forever more!

i dont own a mazdaspeed 3 but i think that goes back to the comprehension thing. i just havent edited my profile since ive been here before the brz existed and its not really a big deal. i didnt list things i was proud of. i listed things i was driving.
