Tips on obtaining a 6speed?

Wusup guys, I currently have a automatic ultramarine frs @ 4900 miles. I really want to switch to a manual transmission, just don't know how to make it happen. I currently owe about 10k left but will be paying it off in about 8 months. Tips? Thanks.

Well, at least you should have a good amount of positive equity to go towards your switch. How much equity? That all depends on how much effort you put into shopping your local dealers to acquire the absolute best bottom-line price (trade difference).

Research what your FR-S is realistically worth, and look into what kind of deals are being offered on a new FR-S with the six speed manual which you desire.

All the best.

Ha. I have an automatic ultramarine with 4300 miles and am looking for a manual. Funny stuff. What made you decide to switch?

Same here. I couldn't drive a manual when I first bought my FRS and now that I've learned how it made automatics seem boring.

Haha exactly!! I'm not the best at manual since I don't have a daily. But I've had friends teach me here and there.

Haha. That's the way to do it. Good luck with the search.

I wish you guys lived on the east coast, I want an automatic Ultramarine 6AT FR-S.

I have a 2013 6MT Ultramarine with 8900 miles and I think a 6AT would work better for me as a daily driver and track car.

However, even if we were to swap cars, how would I carry my loan through the transaction? I still own close to book on the car because I bought it used from CarMax 3 months ago.

You would probably have to contact both of your banks and I'm sure they could advise you. They will have your exact pay off info and could calculate your per diem (daily interest). I'm confident they will be able to explain to you the proper steps. Shouldn't be too hard once the both of you have come to an agreement along with the motivation to make the swap.

Good thing about this is that you don't have to worry about a dealer interfering with the transaction.

GL. :)

keep the car and buy a used miata. that car is going to be cheaper than the hit you would take and you end up with a more fun car that doesnt have to try to do more than one thing well. its what i have done and its a great set of cars.

The hit is gonna be quite large. I would be happy with an AT or 6SP MT twin. Just keep the AT and enjoy it for what it is :)
