melting stock cats?

Do the stock cats have a tendency to melt under extreme use I've never really seen anything about it but the last two cars i had were bad about wiping out cats in track conditions.

It should not on new OEM stock tunes (before the reflashes and changes, we were the first to blow out cats on completely stock everything). We have clients with tuned setups melt cats but the logs revealed that the tuning parameters were the ones to blame. Proper tuning should not melt cats.

in fairness the car is boosted and probably was running a bit rich.

<40k miles, 7 track days, 200+ autox runs.

I recommend catless setups if you're planning to track. For one, you don't have to worry about replacing expensive factory cats you blew out just before smogging your car. All you need to do is just bolt the factory cats back on and boom, you're ready to go.
