How come you didn't notice the louder exhaust ?

After I had issues with my previous header (OEM) , I got rid of the cats ..please tell me you completely cleaned the header because if it sucks the dirt into the heads at cold start you may have bigger issues...

Obviously FI and the cats on the OEM Headers is not a good idea especially for those who track

Entirely valid point about the noise sir.

I had been using a shitty locally sourced gasket at the catback/frontpipe and had pretty much nuked it with track days/autox. That was replaced with a nice metal gasket a few days before the clog went terminal.

Far as the cat chunk rattle goes. When I had replaced the front sway bar (eibach) it was lightly rubbing my Perrin frontpipe at idle. So i dropped the bar down a bit with some fender washers. Of course rare rattle from the cat chunks was coming from the same exact location. I had figured that the exhaust shifted a touch.

Car has about 200 highway/local miles on it now. Have been watching the obd afrs. Obviously a bit off with the cat situation, but under gentle miles hasn't been having an issue staying right.
