What impact on mpg will I see? And the stage 2 tune has 93 or 91 options? If I went with 93, would it be a problem if I used 92?
And if the fart knocker pumping gas accidentally puts 87 in, what happens to my motor...its happened before ..and what kind of whp is estimated/dyno-confirmed with catless UEL/ABE/K&N with stage 2 UEL tune? Last edited by B-R-Z; 09-05-2014 at 10:17 AM. |

Ive seen zero impact on mpg under highway cruising. Im sure spirited driving burns even more fuel than stock.

you have aftermarket intake ?? or an intake/exhaust leak throwing of MAF or 02 sensor readings. Posted up some AEM and AFE intake scalings in Maf scaling thread if you have one of those intakes. |

Your confusing me here "Just to get things clear, if I have a catted front pipe" "I currently don't have an after market front pipe" so i am assuming you have the standard factory front pipe installed at present and your thinking about an aftermarket front pipe with hi-flow or no cat. Start with the Stg 1 log and see how it looks the stage 2 is for catless aftermarket headers. Assume the catted front pipe is "Hi-flow cat" or no cat and you have stock headers with cat. Then its a toss up between Stg1 and Stg 2 tunes. you need to log it and see how the AFR and knock looks then make a decision between stage 1 or 2 tune. I would suggest a better option is to buy aftermarket catless headers and keep the stock catted front pipe, you will get a better result and the cost for say the Open flash header with discount due OFT purchase aprox $500 is not much more than some hi-flow cat front pipes. most places you will pass emissions tests with just the stock front pipe cat in place and catless headers.

Lol yeah sorry. Im on stock front pipe. I only have a drop in filter and ft86speedfactory v1 exhaust but I will be getting a motiv high flow cat front pipe soon. I was just wondering if I were to get an OFT, if I would still fall under the stage 1 category with an aftermarket front pipe since the description says "For vehicles equipped with original header. Other exhaust modifications also compatible." I wasnt sure what other exhaust modifications were referred to.
I would love to get headers but living in California, Im not even gonna bother. Changing the front pipe is as far Im willing to go right now. I know its still illegal but its a lot easier changing the front pipe than header when it comes time to smog. Quote:

Yeah I'm not familiar with how strict they are in California. Maybe save your cash and don't bother with the front pipe their is little hp to be gained (the header and cat in header seem to be where you pick up the hp). Leave the front pipe header cat frontpipe stock and get the OFT and run E85 since your stuck with 91 gas in california and E85 appears to be readily available. talk to @solidONE he is stock on E85 with OFT tune in california. E85 on stock car is good gain for cheap price and no knock issues. |
