So tell me what being an awesome driver will do for you when the road looks like this.

Not saying either way. Some people get their fun from power. To say they're a shit driver because they want a faster car is ignorant.

"You bought the wrong car." I think the point is that people who complain about power in the FR-S only see that as being fun. Me, that's just the stuff to endure until the next fun bit. That would be just as boring at 150 as it is at 80. It's become a real cliche, but it applies. "Wong car for that, dude."

ETA: That pic looks like Utah on the way to Grand Junction.

ETA again: Specifically, people who think the stock FR-S sucks because it lacks power suck at driving. There is more to driving quickly than mashing the gas to the floor. Note that "fast" and "quick" are not the same thing.

And there's more to drag racing than mashing the gas to the floor too.

I haven't ever actually met anyone that said the twins suck. Plenty that said it could use another 50 horsepower or so. Some people say "you bought the wrong car." I say, you can make any car fast. Now how much do you want to spend?

Public road, some of scenarios I find enjoyable when driving:
- when driving at 'normal' speed and then you do a bit of flooring to gain some speed (ie beat the traffic light), the engine gives out a low growling tone (not a fan of the higher rpm sound)
- normal, small roundabouts become interesting due to handling
- I "trace" the road line unnecessarily just for fun: ie: after exiting roundabout or at some turning road, the line curves a bit before it becomes straight again. I mirror my car exactly like how the white/yellow line curves around just for fun even thought I don't really have to.

Damn no wonder my mileage suffers lol

This is exactly what I've been saying. To me, the journey of making a car the best all around car it can be, including being able to go fast in the straights IS what makes it fun.

I don't get the camp that say you bought the wrong car if you want to be able to go fast straight.

I love challenging myself to make the most for the least and I think the twins are one of the best starting platforms for that.

I definitely agree as well. I want to have my cake and eat it too. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that

It's a hell of a lot easier for me to get my car to 500hp than it is for someone to reduce the weight of their car by 1000lbs...

Even if that means an engine swap down the road.
