I learned a ton from this how to, thank you. I just don't get the wheel itself. There must be a lot that doesn't come across in pics for someone to pay that much for it. It just doesn't look like much improvement over the stock wheel to me.

It just comes down to personal preference. The stock wheel is already very very good. I personally like the TRD wheel and would have easily paid 800 for it, just because that is what I wanted. The Prova wheel feels incredibly aggressive to me with the contours, material and thickness, where my TRD wheels feels a bit more subtle. Also some people like the exclusivity of Prova parts as you do pay a premium for them, but that also means not many people are going to be running around with it. To each their own of course, I just love seeing people mod their cars in their own way, as long as it's safe and fun, I dig it

Thanks,
Rick

So I got the Cusco carbon wheel. It's about 2" smaller in diameter, notched for your thumbs, flat bottom, and makes for a great feel while driving. Find a friend that has one, try it and see. Makes a huge difference for me.

2" smaller in diameter? Isn't the Cusco wheel still based off the OEM wheel? (ie: same diameter)

got some measurements?

So it looks like:

Cusco wheel is 350mm

Prova wheel is 358mm

I think the Stock wheel is 375mm or 365mm, correct me if I'm wrong.

So the area that takes all the stock internals from the OEM steering wheel (i.e. rear black plastic cover, air bag clips, wiring harness, etc) is the same size. If by my saying 2" difference was incorrect and threw off your day, then I apologize. It is smaller in diameter, and I feel a noticeable difference. That noticeable difference is translated while driving.

Best quote I've heard about cars is "racers don't make for good mechanics, and mechanics don't make for good racers". Again my sincere apologies for not having the exact measurements on hand. But again, the thicker steering wheel and notched area at (roughly) 9 & 3, make a large difference when it translates to what you do through the apex

Just personal preference really. Ideally you would want to sit in a car with the steering wheels so you can get an idea of what it will be like, but if you do not have that option, you may just have to make your best guess

Thanks,
Rick
